My review Eurodam Nov. 17 - 24, 2012

Before you read my review, remember this is just what my experience was like.

Loved

Nice Size Cabin 1051 Category C Outside Ocean View

The Amount of Storage in Cabin. 1st Time I saw Storage Draws under the Beds

Huge Bath Towels

Nightstand Lights (you could turn them on and not wake others, I will post pic)

That you don’t have to Checkout Pool Towels (most cruises you have to wait for their pool towel stations to open and check them out and in which is a pain)

The Morning Crepes in the Lido Restaurant

We Never had a Long Wait for the Elevator

Anise (sp?) and the Culinary Arts Center, she was wonderful and really enjoyed guest Chief Scott, I tried to attended every Show

I always saw Crew Members Cleaning and Painting around the Ship

The Best Orange Juice, they make it Fresh

Piano Man Greg Gallello. He was AMAZING! He is such a friendly outgoing entertainer/person. We ran into him a few times in the elevator and Lido. He always had a smile on his face and asked how our day was. Loved when he performed Crocodile Rock and he looked hot sitting at the piano wearing his cool hat.

The Choices of Activities on our 1st Sea Day

Emily the Leader Singer

Jess the Computer Instructor was very helpful and Answered Questions although she said that Windows 8 would be $14.99 for newer computers, but I found it to be $39.99 and SkyDrive is different than what she showed us.

Comedian & Magician Jeff Peterson and Indy

Beautiful Fresh Flowers throughout the Ship

Afternoon Tea at Tamarind

Penny Slots at the Casino (I spent many hours here)

Nice GYM I went early and never had to wait for a Machine

Morning Stretching Class

Ports

Grand Turks - Beach Day but by the afternoon we were rained out.

San Juan - Took the free trolley to Fort El Morro and San Castillo

St. Thomas – Took taxi to Corki Beach for sun and snorkeling. Nice day even though it started to rain by late afternoon. It was crowed/busy (5 ships in port)

Half Moon Cay - cancelled

Was Disappointed With

We only ate twice at the Rembrandt Restaurant and didn’t care for the servers. I asked for ice tea, but they never offered to refill it or asked how our dinner was. I didn’t expected to be pampered, but did expect to have better serves.

The Casino could add a few more penny slots. Quite a few times I needed to wait for one.

Our Cabin Steward, cabin was not clean.

Did Not Find the Comedian Derrick Funny

Wished they had More Comedy Nights

Half Moon Cay was Cancelled Due to Strong Wind. The Captain made the decision that tendering would be too dangerous. Even though I was so excited on go, I agreed with the Captain. He said we ran into a cold front from the east coast. The waves were VERY Rough.

I liked Cruise Director Brent, but I was very disappointed on the way he handled our missed day at HMC. He added a Bingo game, a 20 minute cooking section, and repeated a computer class that only holds 15 – 20 people. I felt that Brent could have arranged a better day. When I was on NCL Pearl we arrived to Great Stirrup Cay 3 hrs. late. Their cruise director arranged for a deck BBQ, 2 hours of free rum punch, a movie, and a matinee production show. Holland America offered us a glass of champagne and refunded $17.29 pp for port taxes/fees.

Debarking was a mess. Very disorganized. Cruise Director Brent said to wait to hear his announcements before debarking, but there weren’t any. Ship was late and everyone was trying to leave, but they only had one line scanning cards. People were worried about missing their flights. It was a HUGE MESS!

Overall

I was disappointed that we missed HMC, but it didn’t stop me from loving this cruise. I will be sailing Holland America in the near future.

Hope you enjoyed reading my review.

Debbie

I Forgot I also Loved

Kelly the Travel Guide, she was very knowledgeable, had wonderful programs, and had desk hours to ask her questions. Way to Go Kelly!

Free Shoe Shinning

Free DVD Renting

Nicest Library and Board Game Room

Jess the computer instructor said in about 3 weeks all the computers will being replaced with new ones. She was disembarking with us, she just finished her 4 month contract.

Movies in the screening room : The Avengers, Rock of Ages, The Amazing Spider Man, To Rome with Love, the Dark Knight Rises, and Moonrise Kingdom

I will post more photos tomorrow and I will tried to scan and post the schedules.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and post great pictures.

Are all the afternoon teas held in the Tamarind Restaurant or just the Indonesian afternoon tea?

It was like that when we were on the Eurodam.

Thanks Krazy Kruizers

All afternoon teas (3pm) are held in the Rembrandt dining room except on the 1st sea day they held this Indonesian tea in the Tamarind Restaurant.

Indonesian Tea Ceremony - Enjoy the exotic teas of Indonesia, accompanied by cakes and sandwiches at this unique tea service, served in traditional Indonesian wear and accompanied by the sounds of this island acrchipelago.

Happy Sailings,

Debbie

GREAT REVIEW and information - THANKS!

We are on her next sailing and have a quick question. Our meet and greet is on Sunday at 10 AM, so I was wondering if it will conflict with any religous services at that time? Could you check your schedules if you have them?

Thanks

I'm not the OP but in the past the Protestant service is at 10. I think mass is at 9. Our M&G was always at 11.

They take a group of 10 people at a time and walk you through the Rembrandt kitchen. They offer you refreshments (water & juice) and samples (cheese, grapes, sushi, etc.) throughout the tour.
