Christmas on the Adventure with Max's Mom: My Photo Diary

Recommended Posts

So loving your review..we are on the last two weeks of February. We did b2b last february for the first time and so so loved it so bringing our cruising family this time. we are in 8614 and 8612 again so you were right down from us. Excellent location I think. Heck for the price of the GS for one week we have two weeks almost. Our first week sold out early. Robyn has an os for both weeks...

A question that I have seen others asking on other threads...the resort you went to in Aruba? Did you prearrange this?

Was was your impression of Sylvia in the CL?

Thank you for such a great review so far.

I've always wanted to try going to Playa Porta Marie on Curacao but the cab fare is $50 one way. Maybe one day if we can get some more people to go with us.

$50 one way -- are you certain about that fare? I really wanted to try Playa Porta Marie, also. I've been reading on the boards that the taxi fare is $10 pp one way with a minimum of 4 people in the taxi. Have the taxi rates recently increased?

I love your review and your pictures. We will be sailing the same route on the Adventure in two weeks and you have really helped us with our shore excursion planning!

Hi!

Yes....those cabins ARE in an excellent location!

We did NOT pre-arrange the resort in Aruba. We have been there many times and have never had a problem. The beach is across the street from the resort. We just go right out to the beach....never into the resort.

Silvia was very nice. She seemed to be a hard worker. She has just been at this for a couple of months, so I'm sure she will get better and better. We did not have to ask her to do anything for us, but I saw her helping a lot of folks with this and that.

That price is what the taxi driver told us. I'm sure you can negotiate a little. $10pp one way sounds about right. We usually share a taxi with people when we are there and it has been reasonable. We took taxis on our own this time and I thought it was a bit high. I believe the taxi fares have increased. Maybe we'll get there one day!

I am so enjoying this review! We are sailing AOS next month, same itinerary, and have the center hump balcony directly opposite yours. (8620). It was so nice to see the room pictures! (before they got deleted ).

We've never sailed AOS before. Can you confirm if you did or did not have a noise issue from the elevators in the center hump? Everything I have read says no noise concern, but confirmation is always reassuring. :)

You will not have any issue with noise from the elevators. They are located in alcoves and are not in the area of the cabin passageways. RCI designed this aspect of its ships really well.

I'm excited to be back in Aruba again. We are going to one our all time favorite beaches today.

The taxi driver takes us to the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort on Eagle Beach. Great spot! We got there early enough to get some prime chairs and a palapa. It was a beautiful day' date=' once again.[/size']

Best beach day of the cruise!

No crowds here! They all go to Palm Beach.

How was it possible for you to use the chairs and palapas at Amsterdam Manor? They don't rent them to cruise visitors; they are for hotel guest use only. They rent chairs and umbrellas only through MVC. I must not be understanding exactly what you did because I don't believe you are encouraging people to poach lounges and palapas from hotel guests.

Hi all! I accidently deleted my original folder from photo bucket. I have no idea how to get them back. I am so bummed!

6rugrats......We have been going ot AMBR for years. We just walk on to the beach area and find the beach boy. We paid him for the chairs ($15 per chair).....they have never said anything any different. I saw a lot of people with Royal Caribbean towels there. that's all I know. If they didn't want us there .....they sure didn't say anything to us and they took our money. Or maybe the beach boy just pocketed the money! Anyway like I said.....we have done this for years.

Well that explains why I can't see your pictures. Here I thought it was my computer. Have always enjoyed your adventures, Jane. Hope you can repost them.

We also went to Amsterdam Manor this same sailing, and have done so many times. They have an attendant come around, collect your money and put a tag on your chair showing you have paid for the rental. they do have some reserved for hotel guests first - but the open ones are for anyone to use.

Well......from what I understand.....there is nothing I can do to get those pictures back. I am beyond upset. Oh well........

So I'll finish....there are a couple of days left.

Saturday ~ December 29th ~ At Sea

Yay .....another sea day.

Just made a quick visit to the CL this morning to get a little coffee.

We were joined at breakfast by Cynthia and David.....then Barbara and Jeff came in.

After breakfast we went up to the Blue Moon Lounge on 14 to use up some more of our internet credit. Pretty soon, it was time for the Captain's Corner.....Q & A with the Captain.....and it was being held in the Blue Moon, so we had good seats already!

The Captain.......Ron Holmes form Canada, and the Hotel Director, Chris Karavos......did a very nice session for over 30 minutes.....answering all kinds of quiestions. There was a pretty good turn out of passengers there and some good questions were asked. We enjoyed that very much.

Afterwards we went back to the cabin and got a couple of suitcases out from under the bed! Ugh!!!!!!

Before long it was time to go down to the MDR for lunch. We were invited to have lunch with an officer. Our friends, Karen and Dale were also invited, so we met up with them and two other couples. We were shown to our table and there we met the Casino Manager......Christian Hatley. Not really an officer.......but it was still nice! Christain was a very nice "chap" from the UK and I enjoyed talking to him. Unfortunately one of the other couples there sort of did a lot of complaining about many things. I tried changing the subject many times. I didn't go to lunch to hear a bitch fest and I'm sure Mr. Hatley didn't either, but he was very gracious. Anyway.....it was a very nice lunch, complete with wine. I enjoyed it.

Thanks, Melanie! I was beginning to think I had done something wrong! Didn't know you were there, too! Yes......they did put tags on our chairs.

Hey Patti! I don't think I will be able to do it. They say once you delete them, there's no getting them back. I didn't do it on purpose.....my stupidity....I guess.

I always enjoy all your posts and advice on CC. So glad you stopped by here!

I can't view your pictures all I see is a small box with a red X where the picture should be. Any ideas?

So sorry. I could just cry......I accidentally deleted my photobucket folder and they all disappeared. I guess I can start all over, but i'll have to wait until I have some time. I am trying to finish now with some real pictures.

I apologize for being so careless!
