Quantum Deck Plans

Recommended Posts

It is interesting how far the Concierge Lounge is from the elevators. It is in a very cool place but you would have thought they would have put it somewhere more accessible.

I just wonder if there is not going to be an elevator inside the CL. Can you imagine the traffic and noise on Deck 12 walking from the elevators towards the aft section of the ship.

I thought about all the constant foot traffic. I wouldn't want a room between midship and the CL. Which actually would be a convenient cabin location for those with access. But to the unsuspecting! Wow! They'd be smart to put in an elevator.

I also thought about that. An elevator going to the CL available only to those whose Seapass cards are keyed for the CL.

Its not revealed yet. They must be doing something innovative with it that will make it different than current Royal ships

Form the deck plans the dining room will probbaly be towards the aft of the ship, possibly occupying just decks 3 and 4.

When you think about it, so far RCI have been VERY traditional in terms of dining with just one big main dining room, at least double height, with two sittings. When you think of it, some of their diding rooms are quite similar in design/decor.

I expect Quantum will have the same.

Out of 4,000 guests, how many are likely to be CL guests? I doubt enough to make an entire elevator worth it.

ALTHOUGH, to be perfectly fair, it would seem that the weight of the heads of some of the CL/D+/P members should throw off the entire balance of the ship, the way you hear some of them talk. So maybe an elevator is called for.

Ha. Ha. But actually I think there would be quite a few. In addition, the really $$$ Suites are across the stern of the ship. It would be a little bit of a walk from the aft suites to the elevators and back to the CL on the stern. Because they could use the CL for breakfast, lunch and the cocktail hour that would be quite a bit of walking and they do want to please the big spenders.

Same. I couldn't go in there if I wanted to. Smoke really gets to me. It gets in my hair, in my contacts, in my clothes, in my nose, etc. I just can't stand it and it makes me super congested & cough-y.

I just accept the casino as a Poncho-free zone and pretend it doesn't exist.

So, have you really been on 2,000+ cruises??? If so, then yea....I want your opinion for an upcoming 2014 celebration cruise. If you say it's true, I'm ready with details to shoot you so you can give your opinion. I've been on 3 :) so definitely far far far from being able to make great choices!

Did anyone else notice that there is no Main Dining Room anywhere? It is usually on the aft of the ships around deck 4, but that is where the new 270 degree lounge is located.

There's no WJ either, maybe RCL s going to a BYOF model:eek:

Excellent point. I'd be a bit disappointed to book a suite knowing I had this access to the special dedicated concierge service and then find it was right over my head and I had to walk half way one way and half way back.

Maybe there will be a special private access elevator just for those special suites. :D

Although for the rest of us (assuming we aren't in those suites  ) we have to walk to the back on one floor whether it's on that deck or on another to an aft elevator. I do feel sorry for the people who would have the constant traffic going back and forth past their rooms on the CL deck during peak times on some of the busier cruises - like in the fall and any potential future repositionings. So an aft elevator would be nice spreading out the floors from which we all come.

Sorry to disappoint. It is mockery because some people around here believe that the more cruises you have been on, the smarter you are. The have some gap in their personal space/time continuum where dumb people don't have money and/or cruise a lot.

I've been on around 10 now.

That is hilarious! My daughter and I were calculating and saying there is no way...is there? We determined either you were a true cruise critic or just sarcastic. LOL! Our 2nd guess was right. Still interested in valid opinions on NCL's new Getaway vs Quantam. : ) With 10 you are 7 ahead of us.:)

We're in it for the pure joy!

I have to agree that I am disappointed, though not entirely surprised that RCCL seems to be moving away from outside promenade.

A true outside promenade has always been my very favorite spot on a ship. Close to water, sheltered from the elements, and a bit of that rugged and industrial feel that unmistakably says "the is a ship".

Nobody has more beautiful ships than Royal Caribbean. Not even those so called luxury lines. But to me the best of all cruises ships on the high seas are represented by the Voyeger class and Freedom class of RCCL. Royal promenade, open aft deck, open forward deck, accessible bow, and an open, complete promenade.

I hope RCCL will consider putting outside promenade back to its ship design in the future.

Open promenade meaning Oasis-class? That's just 2(3 soon) ships. I'm not going to call the Radiance-class "promenade deck" a true promenade, inside or out.

But Royal has put true promenades on 2(3 soon) Oasis-class ships, 3 Freedom-class ships and 5 Voyager-class ships. It is a really great feature. I'm not sure why they'd just abandon that for this class especially as successful as it works.

I believe you all are now talking about 2 different promenades. There is an indoor mall like promenade. And there is an outside deck referred to as a promenade deck - where the muster drill occurs.

I wasn't aware that most vision class ships don't have a full round promenade deck. Rhapsody is closed at the front. I knew Enchantment went all the way around. I was told on RH that the only other Vision class with a full round outside promenade deck is Grandeur. I don't know this is true as i haven't seen them all. And of course this class of ship has no promenade as you are calling the indoor mall.

I like a fully connecting Promenade deck - outside.

I don't like an inside Promenade. I prefer the Centrum concept. It seems Quantum will have neither.

I guess there is a style preference for everyone.

I like that this ship is not going to be like the former class ships. Change is good.

I agree 100% :D Change is VERY good! RCI has a very diverse fleet of ships and not just another cookie cutter variation of an existing class.

If Two70 covers decks 5 and 6, what is on the back portion of deck 7 right above Two70? This space is not marked "More to Come". Any ideas fom anyone here? Thanks!

Those are loft suites. At least the windows of Two70 go all the way up to the lofts. Of course it will be very noisy at times in those lofts won't it? Maybe there is a buffer zone between where one stops and the other starts if they are lucky.
