UPDATED List of Current Cruise Directors (CD)

Interesting to know. So if a CD really loves a ship and wants to return to it after a 3 year hiatus from it, they can't go return to it, if they have already completed 3 years on it previously. I wonder why?

I'm not sure how rigid the rule is, or whether or not, after the passage of time, a CD can ever return to the ship on which he has already spent 3 years.

I heard about this rule from a CD (I don't remember who - it might have been Graham, or it might have been Richard Spacey), and didn't think at the time to ask the reasoning behind it, or for more details.

Keith Williams was our CD on our Explorer cruise last September. He is a little more reserved than some of the CD's but he does seem to enjoy his job. We went to a jazz band activity and her really got in to the dancing. He did a good job with the Marriage show and the Quest. He is not the best but he is definitely far from the worst.

Allure OTS - Jerome Sueur May 19 for all of the European cruises thru Oct 25 then who?

Anthem OTS - Joff Eaton joins the ship on March 18 until September 15

Brilliance OTS - Clo O'Connor started on March 9 (until when? then who?)

Enchantment OTS - Paul Rutter May 11 through July 20. Marc Walker returns from his vacation on July 20 to November 20. Marc will return from his break on Jan 18, 2015

Explorer OTS - Rob McNally started May 15 until October

Freedom OTS - Casey Peltier from February 1 until June 7. Jamie Fentiman June 7 until Aug 17

Grandeur OTS - Mitch Merucci April 28 until the end of August (Mitch will not be returning to GR after his break)

Independence OTS - Leigh Xuereb May 17 through September 8. Leigh is the new permanent CD on Indy!

Jewel OTS - John Blair March 14 until July 17, then Dennis Charles for 2 months

Rich Edwards is currently recovering from surgery and resting at home. He will be returning in June 2015.

Becky Thompson works for Celebrity Cruises in their corporate offices in Miami.

Dave Chapman has left RCCL. He is taking an extended break, and then he will be moving over to another cruiseline.

James Andrews is a real estate agent in Sydney

Mike Szwajkowski is a Canadian Mountie

Leo Papa at Cornell University working on a Master's degree in Hospitality Administration/Management

Anna Bass is now Client Services Manager at ISS London

Abe Hughes is Director of Port Revenue Operations at Royal Media Partners and sometimes works onboard as the port and shopping guide

João Pereira is studying Portuguese/English education and translation at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas in Brazil

Kirk Detweiler is now CD with Silversea cruises.

Simeon Baker - married a dancer, had a baby girl and is a sales exec at a Porsche dealer in Saskatchewan

Matt Baker - Sim's brother - recently married and living in Wales. They bought a pub called the Tiddley

Kieron Buffrey - CD with Holland America

Tom Canosa - teaching 6th grade science in North Carolina

Peter Benfield and Johnny Osborne have emigrated to Thailand

Anthony Richards is living in Miami with his wife, and is working for Royal Media Partners as Manager Port Revenue Operations

Rico du Breil is now a CD with NCL

Paul Lancaster is no longer with RCI, and resides in England

Abel Jeney is International Manager at Kingswood Education and Adventure in London

Parker Cristan is living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - staging/choreographing for local theater

We had Keith on Explorer as well. He is genuinely personable, approachable, and visible throughout the ship. It seemed that once he recognized a guest, he would always stop to talk and ensure that all was going well. While not a physical comedian like Richard Spacey, he does a good job responding to guests' entertainment needs (e. g., deciding to add a second 50's and 60's night due to overwhelming positive response on the first one). His staff appeared to have a lot of respect for him, too.

I agree. Ricky is thus far my favorite RCI cruise director, and I was a little bummed to just miss sailing with him on Oasis this past month by a couple of weeks.

We had Ricky many times on the Grandeur. He sings and dances and is very outgoing and full of energy. Favorite of any cruise director that we have had.
