Hey Donna,

I just got off the Majesty and spoke to Dave after the farewell show. I told him I'll be sailing with him on the Oasis in October then a month later on November 16th. He said he don't know who will be there on 11/16 but it won't be him. He claims that's when he departs. Seems kinda short but that's what he said.

 

Adventure OTS - Drew Devine started on August 4 (for 4 months?).

 

Allure OTS - Ken Rush started July 28 for two months, then Allan Brooks for October and November (but not December). Exact handover date needs confirmation (Sept 29? Oct 6?)

Brilliance OTS - Steve Davis took over as regular CD of Brilliance on July 27 through mid-November when the ship goes back to Tampa.

 

Enchantment OTS - Marc Walker from June 7 - Nov. 25

 

Explorer OTS - John (and Katrina) Blair started August 3 for approximately 2 months. Leigh Xuereb will be returning from his break at the end of Sept/early Oct. (Erky from Turkey will be Activities Manager Sept 28, 2013 --February 2014. The morning show will be called "Talking Turkey with Leigh and Erky"!)

 

Freedom OTS - Mike Hunnerup from July 7 through August 25. Richard Spacey expects to return from his break on August 25 for 4 months.

 

Grandeur OTS - John Perry from July 12 through Sept 13. Ricky Matthews September 13 thru November 26th, then Ricky will return sometime in January for 4 months.

 

Independence OTS - Joff Eaton from May 26 through September 7. Can someone please find out who will be covering Joff's break?

 

Jewel OTS - Dennis Charles (Dennis Sciortino) July 6 through sometime in Sept (exact date unknown), then Carly Boileau is back in September (exact date unknown) Can someone please find out the handover date?

Liberty OTS - Jerome Sueur started Aug 4 (Cuddy will be filling in as the Activities Manager under Jerome)

Leigh Xuereb is one of the absolute best CDs! Down to earth, friendly, great sense of humor, etc. He trained as activities director under Richard Spacey and then was promoted to CD last year. I love him and wish I could sail with him every time. Lots of fun, but not annoying.

 

I don't know if I agree that he'll be moving to Oasis, though. His girlfriend is an ice skater on Explorer, and he was assigned there by special request. He prefers the intimacy of the smaller ships.,

 

I do agree that he'd be awesome for Oasis, though.

Thank you for letting us know!

 

CD info that comes via email or phone from RCI landside tends to be notoriously incorrect. They haven't proven themselves to be a reliable source. It's best to have info directly from the CD's, or someone on the ship's activities staff or the concierge.

 

If someone can confirm with Mike (who is onboard Freedom now) either in person or via social media, that would be very helpful. (I just sent him a tweet - we'll see if he replies) Or, maybe someone can confirm with Joff who his fill-in will be.

I understand your point, but this contact of mine t head office was 100 % accurate last year when she told me that Luke Aerosmith was covering Joffs vacation, and agin in may this year when she told me about rob McNally standing in for Joff, so to me she is. Reliable contact :D

I'm not sure it means anything, like a change of ship is coming up; the senior CDs probably all have duties at the main office periodically.

The cruise director, Mike Hunnerup, came on and I was equally as unimpressed with him. I didn’t see another single stage show on the ship. I heard the others were great but we just didn’t make it.

That means that somewhere, one night in the Miami area, right now, in a restaurant, at any time, there COULD be a table at which Richard, Leigh, Frankie and Allan could be eating and swapping stories and jokes about life onboard! Boy, wouldn't you love to be at that table! I know I would! It would be non-stop laughter! :D
