Breakaway Suite 11908 ~ Suite Life in an S6

Recommended Posts

maybe they did away with the book...it was just the same info that is on your cruise documents, basic info and FAQ's. It was basically a waste of paper anyway!! You can read all the info from the website or your downloaded cruise papers. The luggage tags were the most important part of that book. Enjoy your cruise! You will love this suite!!!

Makes sense! Thanks!

As promised, an in-depth look at our Breakaway S6 on Deck 11. This suite has a different layout than most other suites. Deck 11 and Deck 14 are the only decks to have this configuration.

I will begin with some photos and will try to embed some you tube videos at the end. I know many of you are eager to see the photos, so I'm trying as quickly as possible to get as much info out here as I can.

Our cabin was 11908. When you first open the door to your suite, you will notice the doorways are very narrow, and the door is very heavy. Directly ahead of you will be the "small bathroom" or half bath, as it is called. It was tight, but my teen DD had no problem using this and it had plenty of space for all her toiletries. The small bathroom has a shower, some shelf and some cabinet space, is also appointed with Elemis products. You will not find a soap/shampoo wall dispenser here. Back of the door has 2 hooks for hanging clothes/towels and there are 2 cups hanging on the wall. It is pretty tight for counter height space, but toiletries fit on the lower shelves next to the toilet and a shelf behind the toilet. Here are some pictures of the "small bathroom". I know they were hard to find here in the past.

Turn to your right, and you will be entering the dining area. Our first impression was both "Wow!" AND "This looks bigger in photos". However, even though it was a bit smaller than I imagined, it was roomy enough for the 3 of us AND about 20 guests that came to our cabin crawl.

Attached to the dining area is the living room. It's also the bed where our DD would be sleeping. Beyond that is the sliding glass door to the balcony.

BUT FIRST, the master bedroom...one word...AWESOME!

Hello:

I know this cabin is configured differently than the other aft penthouse cabins.

Does anyone know if there is a tub in the full bathroom?

Thanks!

Yes, the "full" bathroom is the Master Bath, and there is a very large tub in it. The "half bath" (or second bathroom) is located in the living room/dining room area, and only contains a stand up shower. I have several photos of the master bathroom in this review.

HI,

After reading many reviews on this board I decided to book a S6. Your review is so informative that it convinced me to book. This is our 1st suite. This suite is part of the Haven and gives you certain perks. That being said -is there a need to buy a vibe pass for the week?

Also, will your 1 YO be in a crib? in your bedroom? or with the 7 YO? The small S4 bedroom doesn't really have that much floor space, unless your 7 YO wants the top bunk. BTW, a crib in the middle of the S6 living room would be tight as well with the living room bed open...so that would really be moot.

Here's a pic of a pack n play in 12908.

No Vibe pass needed, Haven complex has everything Vibe has, and much more! Pool, Hot Tubs, Sun Beds, Waiter/Bartender service, Food/Snacks delivered to your lounge chair. Enjoy the suite life!

Thanks, that seems like much more room than the 2nd bedroom in the 2 bedroom suites. And, didn't you just LOVE the aft balcony? <3

That's because it is a photo of the pack n play in the LR with the sofa made into a bed. Looks like they have it near the dining table & chairs.

Since this is my first Haven suite on the Breakaway --we sail April 27th. Does anyone have any suggestions what time I should get to port? I know there priority embarkation and a reserved room for the Haven guests to wait. But I do not know around what time they start to escort you to the ship. Also have read that the room is small and gets crowded with standing room only. Any Help greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...
Each time we've sailed out of NYC, we arrive at the port approx. 10:30 am. We always get a seat in the VIP room and are usually on the ship around 11:30 am

I just wanted to say thank you.

Because of your review, pictures & information, I just booked Suite 11308 on the Breakaway for 2015.

You were the first person to point out the differences in the Suites on the 11th & 14th floors.

Thank you again for making the decision on which Suite to choose so easy.

Wonderful review!! Looking at booking a cruise in an Aft Suite on the Getaway or the Escape. Do you think the suites will be similar on the Escape?

The Getaway & Breakaway have identical layouts. The Escape will be a much larger ship, and suites may be "similar" but can't be sure. For instance, there are Aft suites on Jewel Class ships, but they are SF's and much different than S6 Afts on the Breakaway Class. So I wouldn't count on anything with the Escape until I saw the actual layout.

I am torn about what to book. I rather the ports visited with the Escape vs. the Getaway. Getaway slightly more economical. I am such a planner, it is difficult to book a suite without knowing details shared by other cruisers. Also, it has crossed my mind that service might be better on the Getaway vs. Escape because crew would be more established? Whatever ship I decide on, your review has convinced me to book an Aft suite!

I'd like to ask a question about breakfast if I could.

I see you had breakfast out on your balcony. Can you tell me the procedure for this?

I ask because on our Jewel cruise a couple years ago -our butler was not very enthusiastic about bringing us breakfast. The one morning we called for some items from Cagney's -he simply told us no. He said since it was 8am it was too late & that we could order eggs & toast. He also just dropped the tray on the table & left.

After that, we went to Cagney's & never asked for breakfast again.

But, this time I am determined to get what I pay for.

Did you speak to the butler ahead of time to say you wanted breakfast delivered onto your balcony?

Did you call him in the morning or leave instructions on the door?

Is there a special Suite menu or Haven menu to mark things off, or do we just write on paper what we'd like?

Is 8:30 am considered too late to have breakfast delivered? I've read on other threads that there is usually a back-up for 7 to 7:30 -but I'd like it later.

Thanks for your help.
