Hi Mike, my DH & I are also going to Vegas in May without our kids. Too bad it's not the same time as you & Tracy. It would be fun to meet up with you. We've been before, but I'm still paying attention to everyone's tips for you. Thanks all!:)

Got this tip from a friend

Most Vegas gas pumps are prepay

When you use a card at the pumps they

Ask for your zip code to match card to owner

Use the three numbers from postal code and two zeros for five digit number

Does not always work but seems to at chevron

Newer pumps recognize chip cards which avoid this problem

If not zip at pump you have to. Go inside and guess at the amount you need

Real fun with a rental car you have never filled before

We always go to bellagio conservatory early in the morning

Better pictures before the crowds

Also walkways over strip have mesh fencing

Normally at either end by escalator there is an open area where you can take pictures without mesh in the way

Have fun

Hi Mike,

I'm going to Vegas in May. I love Vegas it is one of my favorite cities. My group is staying for a week at the Wyndham Grand Desert. I have stayed at Tahiti Village before and loved it. We are going to try the Wicked Spoon and also have a tour booked for the Grand Canyon. We normally spend most of our time gambling but this time we are doing more sightseeing and shows. You & Tracy are going to love Vegas!!!!

Ms. Fun Bunch (Michel)

Thanks Michel, do you always travel with the same group of people and are you always the organizer. Is everyone going to wear one of your T-shirts.:D

Have fun, Mike:)

Thanks Captain, I will make a point to go to Chevron whenever possible.

1. Caesars Palace...in addition to Trevi fountain on the outside there is a copy of Michelangelo's David inside the casino. In the back off the main casino area.

2. Mirage. Volcano is very cool..people start lining up early. There is a walkway into the hotel with a side view of the volcano if you get there too late to get a good spot out front.

3. Ferris wheel. I have a fear of heights so no way I would do this..ok if she who must be obeyed asked I would suck it up and try..but it was not open in February. Should be a great view. Its on the Paris side of the strip in the back.

4. Venetian. Tons of photo ops. Do not miss the lobby. It has great floors. You can walk from the second floor to the Winn hotels on the outside.

Watching tv with my wife today...she realizes this the first time in memory that we do not have a trip at least planned upon getting back from one. Got back from driving trip to Victoria yesterday. We normally book on the return leg of trips.

Have a great time in Vegas. let me know if you have specific questions.

For my cruises it is always the same group of people give or take a few and that is when I buy the group t-shirts as a thank you for going on the cruise with me.

Every May we do a Ladies Only trip (a few of us have timeshares and we trade for a different destination every year). Yes, I am always the organizer of our trips. Once we decide on where we are going I choose the airline, hotel and shuttle. We love traveling this way because when you do a group you just pay on your trip monthly and by the time we travel everything has been paid for in advance. Hope you & Tracy have fun, also! Michel

try and NOT be like me and try to do as much as possible.

make sure you take a day or two to just relax by the pool

cool for locals but summer weather for us

-another tip though...if you have Costco membership there is one just west downtown Vegas that is a business Costco (22 S Martin L King Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89106, United States)

if you cook it may be of interest...for example entire row of knives

Las Vegas Premium Outlet mall is in the same general area

have fun

take pictures

I know I commented earlier, but we just got off Carnival Liberty (the April 5 sailing out of Miami - Western Caribbean) and saw your review pop up again and just browsed through some of your Liberty pictures and noticed that we had the balcony cabin that was right next door to you (6389) and across from your kids' cabin!

I'm looking forward to your Valor review, but I won't do any arm twisting, whenever you have the time. We did that same cruise last May and it was one of our two best. The other was also a Southern Caribbean out of San Juan (St. Thomas; St. Maarten; Dominica; Barbados; Martinique) for our honeymoon on Carnival's Festivale.

I hope you have a great time on your trip to Las Vegas. If you get out of the city, you'll see some of the most spectacular scenery. We were there in 1998 for a week (our neighbors got married out there - fun weddings) and spent several days before the "neighborhood" arrived to visit some of the National Parks. We need to get back now that we have digital cameras.

I read your better late than never review, it helped a great deal in preparing for our Valor cruise. Thanks

.

It was a short boat ride to the edge of the big drop. It goes from a depth of about 45 feet to 7000 feet. If you drop anything there it’s gone for good. I had a flotation device (strap) for my camera.

At 45 feet

At the 7000 feet drop all you see is light rays and an accompanying eerie feeling.

We did this tour from the glory and loved it. Ron dropped our new camera after it tangled in the proppellor just after we were came from the deep. the guide had to dive to get it and all was good even though it was good to 30ft . We gave him a very big tip. The whole group for this tour was amazing friendly and fun. will be doing it again next Jan. Bought a VERY secure floating band for it now. Did you have the camera hog Barracuda around that day.

No barracuda on our excursion. :(

If we go back, we'll probably do it again. :)

Just reading the review of Mike & Tracy. My GD and I will be taking our first solo cruise together. Leaving the rest of the Family at home.

Hope to have fun as you and your GD since you have taken more cruises together!

It was a breeze, we simply got off the ship, walked next door to the next terminal and got on Breeze. Personally we prefer sailing on different ships than on the same ship twice. There are pros and cons for each.

If you decide to do different ships like Liberty and Breeze, stay on the first ship as late possible, we were able to stay on Liberty until about 10 am, went through customs, walked over to the Breeze terminal next door, quickly went through security, boarded at 11:10 am.
