gorb Posted November 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2013 So, we're doing b2b on different cruise lines both in Fort Lauderdale - Celebrity then RCI. What's the process for getting off the Silhouette and on the Allure? Can you walk from one to the other, cab, or do you have to go back outside port security? Rare Keith1010 Posted November 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2013 You will just need to take a taxi to get from one ship to the other. I would be in one of the last groups off the ship. Keith

sail7seas Posted November 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2013 It's actually very easily accomplished and lots of people do it. Stay on Celebrity until the end of debark and catch a taxi to Allure. Wait until your luggage is in the taxi trunk and you are seated before you tell the driver where you are going as (s)he likely will not be happy about the short ride. A generous tip might be in order seeing they waited in line for their turn to get a fare and they hope to go to the airport, at the least. Have fun. What's the process for getting off the Silhouette and on the Allure? Can you walk from one to the other, cab, or do you have to go back outside port security? Walking...is possible if your next ship is docked at the adjacent terminal. Go up on the top deck of the Silhouette and see where the Allure is docked. It may be next to each other. It is also contingent on how much luggage(s) you have and how easy they roll. (We did a B2B on the Allure then to the Solstice...they were docked next to each other.) Taxi...as someone stated, taxi drivers prefer not to drive only to the next ship. The cost of taxi from the port to the airport is approximately $15...so from ship to ship, it will be much less...the meter may not even move, just depends if you driver decides to take you around the entire port just to get to your next ship. Rental car shuttles...make regular stops at each terminal and pick up passengers to take them to the rental office. Passengers have used these shuttles then simply get off their next ship. Note: Recently, some drivers have asked if you have a rental reservation. Shuttle...across the large parking lot outside the Allure, there is a free shuttle that goes around each terminal on embarkation/disembarkation day. Mostly used by the crew to visit friends on the other ships. Drivers have been known to be extremely friendly and have taken passengers from one ship to the next. :D

Nothing in it for them, a waste of their time, and dishonest for a passenger to do this, to say the least. :o
hsaroya Posted November 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2013 So, we're doing b2b on different cruise lines both in Fort Lauderdale - Celebrity then RCI. What's the process for getting off the Silhouette and on the Allure? Can you walk from one to the other, cab, or do you have to go back outside port security? We walked off the Oasis last Christmas (waited in loungers on the deck until 10:15 am - no one tried to get us off earlier), then walked to the adjacent terminal where our Carnival ship happened to be. We didn't realize how easy it would be - my parents ended up paying $10 for a taxi...took us less time to walk over than for the cab to drop them off! I believe there is a minimum $10 cab charge. However, if your terminals are not next to each other, it might be quite a trek with your luggage if you choose to walk.
Rare geoherb Posted November 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Last year our HAL ship (Westerdam) was docked right next to a Celebrity ship. The two ships shared one taxi line. It would have been easy to walk from one ship to the other.
