Drinks On Us card

I have a question for those who have received a "Drinks on Us" card from the casino -- did you know you were going to have one of these card in advance? If I call the Player's Club and they tell me what I'm entitled to (casino cash and a Premium Bon Voyage Package) -- would the tell me that I should also expect a "Drinks on Us" card also, or is this something that comes from Carnival vs. the Player's Club?

My dad received one of those on our 2011 Carnival cruise. He played a lot on the slot machines and he was given the card by about the 3rd day of a 7 day cruise. Not to say that he did not end up giving most of the winnings back, but I think he was on a good roll to play so long.

As far as I understand it, this card is given for a certain volume of gambling activity. I think it is a known fact that one would be awarded the card after you have played that specified level of gambling activity in the casino.

Perhaps another poster can provide more detail.

I got a Drinks On Us card one time because the cruise prior I gambled way toooooo much... but on other cruises, you need to get to 1500 points on the machines and then they give you the Drinks On Us card...

And there is no rhyme or reason to how much money you need to spend to get to 1500 points... If you're really lucky, you can put in $20, keep winning and putting it back and get to 1500 points.. If you're not lucky you just keep feeding the machines until you reach the 1500 points... Most times its cheaper to just purchase the drinks !!! lol

I have received the Drinks On Us card every cruise day one, except my first cruise. It's ok, but I'm usually a 2 drink a day person, with the odd 1 thrown in. You do have to be playing to order a drink. Maybe thats why.. they save money on me and I'm always playing.

Always good to have, doesn't save me any money, since I spend way more than that in the casino.. would probably pay me to stay out of there and order my drinks the regular way. Nope, I like playing in the casino to much, so thats not going to happen.

If you call the Players Club they will let you know what bennies you will get before you board.

I too, have gotten the drinks on us card from the casino manager. It comes after you wager a certain level of dollars.

My wife plays slots and the slot machines track how many points you earn. After 1500 points, you receive a card from the casino manager.

I play dice (craps). Table games are tracked differently. Give your S&S card to the dealer when ever you buy in for a certain number of chips. They will track how much you wager. When the computer tells them you have reached a certain plateau (I think it still is $1500), they will give it to you. They even punch a hole in your S&S card and attach it together with a little chain.

As stated above, if your lucky enough to win more than you lose, you will still get the drink card when you "wager" enough. If you are a real big whale, they will give it to you the first day even without playing.

It's interesting. I get the card everytime when I get aboard due to prior cruise play. Not sure though if the casino managers know in advance though. On our recent Carnival Sunshine cruise- I got the card upon embarkation. As I played- it took until about night 2 to reach 1,500 points. When I did- I guess it triggered something and one of the hosts came out to see me and congratulate me- she seems shocked/surprised that I already had the card and asked how I did that. They may have an allocation per cruise too about how much stuff they give out and depending upon how many big players are on board. On our Carnival Freedom cruise we were getting chocolate strawberries, cookies, wine at dinner, photo coupons- something every day- on the Sunshine cruise there were a few things but near the frequency of the Freedom.

When you talk to the Players Club ask them for the card. If you qualify they will give you one. I had one given to me on my last cruise upon embarkation, and am getting another one on my next cruise.

On my last carnival cruise I was given my drinks on us card the first night after playing for only about 10 minutes (a casino host came over spoke with me and then left and brought back the card). He said because I had earned more than 5000 points on my previous cruise (which funny enough was a VIP casino cruise) that I qualified for the card right away.

It was my mothers first Carnival cruise and she earned hers by the second day.

Yes, this is the way it works. 5,000 pts on a previous cruise will have a drinks on us card waiting for you the first night in the casino! Check with the player's club prior to sailing to make sure you are on "the list."

DH earned the card on one cruise. He called the Players Club before the next one & was told he would have a gift basket in our room. No basket, he asked the 3rd day, they looked through their list & said he wasn't on it... No biggie.
