It appears that NCL will be running a huge promotion

I am soooo tempted to book a summer cruise. I just got back from a Breakaway cruise and would love to book again, but finances are a little tough right now. There are reasonably priced Haven suites on Getaway during that time period that really makes this deal attractive when you consider that with a spa suite you would get spa passes, UDP and UBP included. Just have to factor in the cost of airfare and one night hotel stay since I'd have to fly to port, which adds another $700 - 800 total trip cost for two of us.

Maybe if my bonus comes through before the promotion expires.

I'm not sure why I had to pay in gull them in February???

Maybe you just paid in full in February but didn't actually have to at that time? Unless you're in a suite, their 'pay in full' date is different.

I am on hold with my big box TA waiting for them to pick up the phone, usually never this long of a wait..hhhmmmm

Anyway, I have 6 in an S4 in August.

3 people are over 21 / 3 people are over 13

So, if I get "free" UBP (which we were going to purchase since it worked well for us last year and came out ahead) for all of us it will be:

$1182 for UBP for 3 over 21 / $156.99 for soda for 3 over 13 (includes the 15%)

We were going to purchase the UDP too.

With this new "deal" we get two UDP for "free" = $238

So, $1139 + $238 = $1377. I am prepared to loose my $325 OBC so that would mean my cruise for the 6 of us had to go up $1052 to just break even. I hope it did not go up any more but I am prepared to cancel and rebook and then just have to pay for the additional 4 people for UDP and not have to worry about really anything else since we spend most all our money on drinks and food. Casino we bring cash.

On hold for 13 minutes, so will let all know.

Still worth it consider that two UBP cost close to $1000 and two UDP cost over $240

No , the UBP is $ 49 / day time 2 for a week is $ 686 plus 15% GAT = $ 799.90

The UDP is $ 119 times 2 is $238 .....thus a total value of $ 1,037

I paid $ 3227 with a $ 575 OBC for a Haven Courtyard Penthouse for 9/06/14 thus a net cost of $ 2652

The Price of the Penthouse now is $ 3697 with the above UDP & UBP included the net cost is $ 2,660

This is now a good deal for new booking but for me ...I got a heck of a deal last week and NCL is just moving the numbers around and rebooking nets me a $ 8 higher price

I am on with my big box food and TA company right now while they on with NCL canceling and rebooking my ressie for an S4.

I was able to get the 6 of us the UBP (3 of us are over 21).

Two people will have the UDP. Lost my $300 OBC but SO worth it.

Thank you VERY much to the person that started this thread! I very much appreciate it!

I'm in an interesting situation... still waiting to hear back from my TA.

I originally received $100 OBC from NCL and a free upgrade from ocean view to a BD Balcony.

My booking has gone down $120, so I could stay with my same booking and net out +$20 (lose $100 OBC, but pay $120 less for the cruise).

OR

I can upgrade to just straight booking the BD for $80 more for the week. I would lose $100 OBC but would gain the UDP, which is valued at $238. This would mean I'm up $58. I guess this one makes the most sense, if I plan on spending more than $58 in the speciality restaurants... which seems like only 1-2 dinners max.

Decisions, decisions.

I was able to get my same cabin, UBP for 3 ppl and soda for 3 ppl, UDP for 2 people and SAVED $215.93!!!! I am still on hold since my TA says the trio package is coming up and listed too and she wants to try to apply that to two other people in the cabin. OMG that would be wonderful!

Still on hold? OMG

I wasn't on hold that long I was on hold while TA talked to NCL, etc.

I am finally done after 1 hour and 25 minutes but saved $215 and got the UBP for 3 adults / soda package for 3 under 21, UDP for 2 people! Got my same cabin and SO happy.

We were purchasing both anyway so saved well over $1,000.

Spoke to my TA. I could do this in an S9 for a good price, get all the included freebies, and the TA would give me $150 OBC and $75 shore excursion credit. Wow. It seems too good to pass up. Except that I need to actually put down a deposit... :D

JUST DO IT before the prices change. If you know you will then why will you wait?

I may put down the deposit to lock in the price and take another month to think about it. I am having trouble justifying the expense of a second cruise this year, in a suite no less (of course that suite is less expensive than a balcony out of NYC at the same time). I can pay for it, but it feels too indulgent.

Is there a cancellation fee to rebook the same cabin under this deal if in a haven spa suite?

I guess it depends where you book.

I booked the big food box place TA and they waived the $25 chnage fee without my asking.

I've used them for three prior cruises since they discount NCL prices and have always made changes to my reservations, moved us, etc., and they have never charged me.

Even for $25, I would have still made the move.

If you have it and can then no worries!

I leave for a crusie on Sunday and board the Sky (I know doesn't compare to Breakaway) in an OS on Monday. We have NJ Shore booked, Breakaway and Disney from now until September. I rather vacation than eat LOL but luck I can do both LOL

JS, just to be clear, booking via a TA doesn't exempt you from NCL's cancellation or change policy, does it? My understanding is even via a TA, they still have to "cancel" and "rebook" you to take advantage of new promotions, which still technically falls under NCL's cancellation rules.

Just trying to understand how this works for the future :)

I was on hold with my travel agent for over an hour. I was told first that I could not cancel then rebook. I quoted the NCL consultant that I had spoken to at 7am this morning, and she decided to go check. Then she came back and told me it would be almost $900 more. Once again I quoted the price that was on the website currently. (This was $202 more today then my Aft Haven Suite had been originally) She came back and told me I could keep my original room and have both the UDP and UBP at my current price. I am in heaven!!!!! Can't wait until September!!

We are cruising in July and are 4 adult in a S4.

We currently have a 450 $ OBC

Price when up 382 $ since I book.

UBP value for 4 is 1577.80 $

UDP value for 2 is 238 $

Talk to NCL PCC (no wait time, everything done in 5 min)

The 300 $ Suite OBC is not compatible with the dining promotion but is compatible with the UBP.

Since 300 OBC is better than 238 UDP, I choose to keep the OBC with the UBP. (where you get the most value)

I don't have a clue, not a TA or NCL.

I can tell you I canceled my cruise and rebooked and was able to get the same cabin along with the information I stated above. I can tell you that my TA said there was a possibility I would not get my cabin that sometimes it goes into cyberspace but if she gets a good NCL person on the phone, they should be able to keep it and told me other S4 cabins on Deck 16 that were still available. I gave her my first and second options if I did not get my cabin back (but I did).

When all was said and done, without my asking she said we usually charge a $25 change fee but you were on hold so long waiting for me to do this, that we will waive it. I did not challenge her and ask to pay it but instead thanked her and thanked her for all her work.

I'm sure others have had same, similiar or opposite experiences but this was mine today. :)
