That's a lot of cabins to fill in the coming years. Do you think one of the older outdated ships will be sold off. Spirit or Sun ?

I hope not! The Spirit was our favorite and we are expecting much of the same for our upcoming Sun cruise!

NCL has began to work on two new ships The Escape and Bliss.

NCL Escape will be out of Miami port

NCL bliss no home port as of yet.

They will be same at the Breakaway & Getaway.

Looking forward to the new ships.

Yep, this is very old news and discussed in dozens of threads here already since the ships were announced, after that when their names were decided following a crowdsourced vote (if it had any effect we'll never know), after the first deck plans were released and latest after the actual building of Escape begun. :D

But they are not the same as Breakaway and Getaway, those ships are a bit smaller and belong to Breakaway class, Escape and Bliss will be in class of their own, Breakaway plus class.

if the ship makes money, no reason to sell it

I agree though, with all the new cruise lines having all these new ships, its going to be great for consumers with pricing in the next 5 years

I think its going to NY. Big Market

Being 15 minutes from the port that would be great haha. But Caribbean ports are limited to longer cruises out of NY generally so I'm kind of hoping it goes more south. With me and my wife's schedules more than 7 days is tough except for summer when prices a generally a lot higher!

Breakaway has an extremely shallow air draft for a ship her size. Even with the added decks, Bliss will easily clear the Verrazano-Narrows.

Woohoo

Sweet.

It will be interesting to see where they Homeport Bliss. I don't see them putting it in Miami, NY, or Europe so I'm curious where it would sail out of.

My guess would be for the Bliss Port Carnaveral Florida , http://portcanaveral.com/general/news/releases/02282014.php

The itinerary of the Escape has a lot to be desired. St. Thomas OK, Tortola OK, but Nassau from Noon to 7pm? Crappy time at a crappy port. To bad they don't sub GSC for Nassau.

Have to agree with that.

I did a search and came up with this...

Would a ship of that size will fit under the bridge?

That would be amazing! I would love to have such a short flight and no time difference to mess up my internal clock. I was just thinking that a cruise from California down the coast and to Mexico and Central America would be great, so I hope it happens!

Again, as with the Verrazano-Narrows, Bliss will fit under the Golden Gate.

That's be a pretty bold and risky choice, homeporting a brand new megaship on the west coast. She'd be, by far, the newest and largest doing Mexican Riviera itineraries.
