If Cunard reads CC, what would you like to tell them?

If you could tell Cunard one thing they could do to improve passenger experiences on their vessels, what would it be?

My suggestion to Cunard would be to have a plan to fix broken washers and dryers in their self-service laundries in a more timely manner. Ever been on a longer voyage and had one of the washers, or dryers, non-functioning for over two weeks? We have---twice.

I'm not saying chaos reigned, but it added an unnecessary inconvenience for a large number of people for an extended period of time.

There must have been repairmen in ports where we stopped. There could have been spare parts or equipment kept aboard for repair or replacement. The Maytag repairman could have been invited to cruise (he would have had the time).

I see a number of possible solutions, but (from our experiences) the problem just seemed to be ignored.

I would like Cunard to have a better plan to keep all washers/dryers functioning.

Anyone else have a suggestion for how Cunard could improve any part of their passenger services (if they are listening here)?

Improve shore side service. Have people that answer the phone knowledgeable of Cunard, its offering and procedures.

Affirmatively reply to requests such as OBC benefits.

Maintain the cleanliness and service levels on the ships.

Offer Platinum and Diamond WC members preferred seating arrangements (time, table) in the dining rooms, regardless of fare (i.e., Britannia, Grills).

Line the weather decks of QV & QE in teak, (I'm a lover of classic ships).

And I do miss being escorted to our cabin upon embarkation, as was done on QE2. That was very classy IMHO.

We weren't escorted in our Q-6 in 2010. They seem to do it only for pax in Q-2 or higher.

Rethink itineraries, more diversity throughout the year, not just in the anniversary month of May.

More Caribbean sailings from NYC, not just one holiday voyage.

Find a way, at least for a couple special voyages, to allow QM2 to operate at or near her designed service speeds.

Resist any temptation to further dilute the dress code or start anytime dining in the MDR, keep the traditions alive.

Couldn't agree more, foodsvcmgr. Especially about winter Caribbean sailings from NYC. The January, 2008, November, 2009, and January, 2011, roundtrips to warmth from NYC were among our most memorable and enjoyable voyages on QM2. And I've stated here at least twice before that I would gladly pay a surcharge for a 28 knot jaunt.

Happily the dress code is really in our hands: gentlemen, wear a tie to dinner every night on board. After all, you wear a tie when you dine out at a great restaurant at home, don't you?

Explain how to pack the suggested top hat (let alone where to get one),

for anybody who has to catch a flight to the ship.

:)

introduce a range of beverage packages that include cocktails etc.

- not that we would plan a booze-fest, but to allow us to budget and pre pay at time of booking.

allow for pre-payment of tips

- reason as above

better still, include (hide) tips in the cruise fare

show port arrival and departure times in the cruise schedule.

"Arrive morning" and "depart early evening" is not good enough.

All the port arrival and departure times are shown on Cunard's website under the Dress Code section of the FAQ's

https://ask.cunard.com/help/cunard/life-on-board/dress_code_all

Here's the one for the QM2

Oh!

Now THAT'S the first place people would look.

:)

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for this link (I would never have thought to look there).

I am surprised to see a 16.30 departure time for the 9 May crossing though. We are supposed to be having fireworks :confused::confused:.

We used to sail exclusivly with Cunard. This was because of the Caribbean trips. Being in a catering company, we can only travel during our slow season. Unfortunately the holiday trip is 1)higher priced(for obvious reasons)2)that time in Dec. we are crazy doing holiday parties. We did a fantastic(and it was) 14 day trip on the Celebrity Eclipse in Jan.Food was surprisingly FAR superior to food in Britannia in quality/variety/quantity. We hear about Celebrity doing more cutbacks(isn't everyone these days?)If Cunard did more Caribbean trips(I don't mean as part of the world cruise)We'd go back in a heartbeat. Same goes if they would start some more B2B TransAtlantics from New York &not just from South Hampton.

There are many hat stores online & prices do vary quite a bit. We've usually done "Miller Hats". They make a really good "Bowler" for about $85. Still can't beat a "Christie's" Bowler, but that will set you back close to $300.

Check the upcoming 2015 brochure.

Thank you, I will. I usually get plenty of flyers from Cunard, epecially "welcome back to the Grills". Those were the best trips we ever did, but were for special occasions. Though we never saw cutbacks there, on QV cutbacks were really in evidence in Britannia.

I would ask Cunard to clarify her "foggy" tipping policy! Tips are not included but taken every day on your board account; you can pay it.......or not; according to "ask cunard", tips are given only to your steward and waiters but if you decide to give directly tips to your steward and waiters......you are told that the "hidden" crew members won't get tips (!!!!!??????); tips are taken on your board account....but expected again by crew members on the last day of your trip.......... Please clarify this : not (only) for money but for sense and transparency!

I love Cunard, but I'm waiting for something as clear as Silversea's policy " tips are included and not expected".

Please can we have wall hooks in QM2 cabins like they have on the QV and QE. I find not having them to be quite inconvenient and it's such an obvious thing to have. I'm having to buy some of those 3M ones for my next trip on the QM2.

On the QV:

We have not taken Cunard since Feb. 2013. One of the reasons is the timing of the evening shows. Most ships now have their evening shows at 7 and 9:30 or so. We love Cunard and have had many long voyages on all three Queens. However, after having dinner at 8:30, which is our preferred time, we were often very sleepy in the show and couldn't really enjoy it. Would love to see a show at 7 and go to dinner after.

Really miss those January sailings to the Caribbean from NYC.

You and me and lots more I bet, but apparently Cunard doesn't believe there are enough of us now. But there used to be, the last QM2 respite from winter that we enjoyed (January 3-13, 2011) carried 2580 passengers.
