m8140 Posted June 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Hi everyone. We usually pack our own beach towels, but they take up so much space. Do any of you use the ships towels for when you go to the beach.
evanAction Posted June 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2014 You are allowed to take the ships towels. Just don't forget them because they charge something like $20/each if you don't bring them back! :) Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Forums mobile app

YB Nrml Posted June 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2014 We took an entire suitcase of beach towels on our first cruise, didn't know they supplied them. We've only used Carnival's towels ever since, no need to take your own.
KPfromCT Posted June 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Definitely use the ships towels. Just don't lose them.:D:D:D Normally, when you get back on the ship from a port, you can swam them out right there, for clean ones. Otherwise, your steward can bring you new ones, or go to the towel hut on the Lido, and they'll do it. Seems like too much hassle lugging them from home. Enjoy!!!!! wrigley80 Posted June 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Don't bring beach towels from home....they take up too much space in the suitcase. Carnival will provide towels in the cabin and they are nice big towels. Once you use them just throw the dirty ones on the bathroom floor. The room steward will supply fresh, clean towels
DGP1111 Posted June 23, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 23, 2014 If you are doing an excursion (through the ship or independently) at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, no need to take your CCL ship beach towel, as CCL beach towels are no longer allowed to be displayed at that resort. Atlantis will supply you with one of theirs. That info might save you a wee bit of space in your beach tote that day. :) .
CatlinSTJ Posted June 23, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 23, 2014 As we fly in a day or two early, we always pack beach towels for use before we cruise anyway so depending on your pre-cruise plans, keep that in mind. cb at sea Posted June 23, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2014 Of course you should use the ship's towels....they provide them for that! You don't want to have to bring heavy towels, and worry about cleaning them...they get yucky!

Curious, is this true of all cruise line towels, or just CCL towels that aren't allowed at Atlantis?
sjcruiser Posted June 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 23, 2014 We use the cruise lines towels when going ashore at a beach port, or on a beach excursion. We usually have at least one person in the party keep an eye on the towels and other belongings while the others are in the water.
OCruisers Posted June 23, 2014 #13 Share Posted June 23, 2014 For sure use the beach towels provided by the ship. Just bring the dirty/wet/ sandy ones you've used back with you and they give you new clean ones. :) LuLu
DGP1111 Posted June 23, 2014 #14 Share Posted June 23, 2014 Curious, is this true of all cruise line towels, or just CCL towels that aren't allowed at Atlantis? I do not know if there are additional cruise line brands that have this directive, but I do know as fact that at least one cruise line has not been given this mandate to post on their ships regarding excursion participants, and that line's towels can be spotted on lounge chairs in Atlantis. I don't know what initiated that in 2013 (and still being posted recently), but it did make me go Hmmm when I first read it, and then later saw that some lines seemed to have the "green light", which I researched when I got home. Onboard I asked the excursion dude if personal towels were definitely verboten, and he commented, "Well, they may let that slide". Go figure. . . DGP1111 Posted June 23, 2014 #16 Share Posted June 23, 2014 The Atlantis thing is strange.... Indeed. ;) But as so many love to quote here regarding disagreements with onboard practices/policies . . . Their property. Their rules. :) .
Boozebabe Posted June 23, 2014 #17 Share Posted June 23, 2014 I always take my own but also take a ships towel too. Mine is bright and I can spot it to find my chair. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
