First time cruisers!! Need help with info!!

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm going on the allure of the seas for the first time cruising ever! We're going for our honey moon we are leaving August 31st of this year we have room 11728 which I see is in the very back of the ship! Has anyone ever stayed in this room what are your thoughts and is the boat more rocky or do you feel the motion more in the back of the ship?

We are on the same cruise front of the ship.

We stayed at the rear of the ship last trip with no motion issues. I have been following all of the threads and have not heard any concerns with added motion in these rooms. If there is a big storm you will feel it everywhere on deck 11. This ship is amazing and very stable.

Relax and Enjoy your Honeymoon!!!!

Hello and welcome to cruising :D

Well you have certainly picked the largest ship in the world to start your cruising experience and it was actually the first ship my daughter sailed on and she has been bitten by the cruising bug ever since.

You will love Allure, there is so much to see and do on her and my favourite place is Central Park where you can sit, in the middle of the ocean, in a tree lined outdoor seating area, sipping a coffee and listening to bird song - how special is that!

As far as your cabin is concerned I have never had an aft cabin so not sure I can help you but I know many people covet aft cabins and say they are amazing. So again not sure about how much movement you get but I would imagine it will be more than say the mid part of the ship. However, Allure is so big it might not be so bad but I hope someone can advise you about that.

Anyway, enjoy every moment of your honeymoon and being on board such a beautiful ship :)

We were on deck 12 aft last year, about 4 cabins from the back, and didn't feel any more motion that we have felt other times.

Enjoy your trip, and congratulations on the upcoming wedding! As others have said you will love Allure.

You`ll have great access to the *secret* balcony area via a door almost across from your cabin door, which is a great spot for sail-aways and watching the aqua theater shows from. Search this forum for secret balcony for more info.

Just take some dramamine or bonine with you just in case. You wouldn't want to be sick. If you decide to take it, buy the less drowsy kind and take it at night before going to bed.

We have found that the front of any ship has the most motion. The middle of the ship has the least and the aft will have some, but not as much as the front.

Have a wonderful trip!

Ginger Gum and Bonine if worried about sea sickness, though you will probably be ok in that location. Dramamine will wipe you out.

Near secret aft balcony, check it out for sure.

Have fun.

Some Favorites for us;

Solarium Bistro or Park Cafe for Breakfast

Main Dining Room or Wipeout Cafe for lunch (or snack plus soft server at Wipeout). Windjammer tends to get very crowded on this ship.

add aqua theater shows on boardwalk and late night walks through central park to the favorites list.

Just off the Allure yesterday and spent sail always and Aqua Theater shows on that "secret" aft balcony on 11. Each time we had the whole place to ourselves:) Also our stateroom was aft on deck 8 and really no significant motion; just enough to lull you to sleep! Congratulations and enjoy the Allure! Lady A is a beautiful ship.....

Have an awesome time! Allure is my favorite ship and is a lot of fun! You will not feel the ship at all on Allure, unless there is bad weather. I was on the allure 3 weeks ago; we had bad weather, and the ship was a bit rocky, but it was not a big deal.

Have a great time!! :)

Congrats and best wishes on your upcoming wedding!

Allure is wonderful! A few more don't misses: cooked-to-order breakfast at Johnny Rockets (free; Boardwalk); look through all the "Small Wonders" placed throughout the ship. Some look like small silver binoculars (I do remember one on the Royal Promenade) and others look like upside-down brass telescopes (one near the casino). And, of course, take a ride on the Rising Tide Bar!

Have a wonderful cruise!!

I am also on this sailing, on deck 11 as well. We are toward the front of the ship :)
