This is incredible. We have an Alaskan cruise booked for next summer for my parents and my family. We're both Verizon customers.

The balance of the cruise and excursions we have planned are a little over $10,000. If there isn't a cap, we can save $1000!!! Thank you soooooooooooo much for sharing this info!:D:D:D:D

I only tried to buy one and it said sold out. I'm thinking there was a limited amount. Sure hope they open up more.

My Mom bought two $100 e-gift cards today, and I have bought 3 over the past 4 weeks, we will be buying a few more between now and next cruise (34 days away!)

I'm so glad so many people have been able to take advantage of this program. :)

I had already bought numerous e-cards to pay towards our booked cruises, then bought more of them to use on our Sail & Sign account on board the ships. Last week, I bought more e-cards to prepay the gratuities for our booked cruises. :)

The 10% savings really adds up!

This is awesome, thank you for the heads up! We have been Verizon customers for years and just saw the program; we have 48k of points. We have paid our final balance but I plan to buy several with the money we have saved for our trip and use them for onboard credit.

You're very welcome! I just bought 11 more e-cards today to take on board for some expenses on our cruises. :D

Before I asked here, I also emailed Carnival. I asked if gift cards can be used for payment on a booking thru my TA. This is the reply that I got:

Hello Tracy,

Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

While Carnival Gift Cards may be used directly through Carnival and through our travel agent partners, we do have some certificates, such as our Cruise Dollars and Scrip Dollars that are sometimes used as incentives or rewards for clients. Sadly, the latter two options may not work. We ask that you please review the situation with your agent to verify which type of certificate you have and if it can be applied.

We hope you have a great cruise!

Thank you for choosing Carnival.

Sincerely,

Carnival Cruise Lines

I am not a verizon customer. My friend is, and I was thinking of getting her to buy me some and paying her for them. What is the drawback for her? Will this cost her anything? What are these points eveyone is talking about and do you have to "spend" some to buy a card? I would hate to ask her to use her reward for me. Thanks for any input.

My PVP said that I can't use the egift cards as down payment - that a credit card is required to secure the reservation. Has this been the case for you all?

I booked a cruise on board the Sunshine two weeks ago and used these e-gift cards purchased through Verizon to pay for the entire cruise. I just took the printouts to the future cruise desk and the Future Cruise Director keyed them all in as payment for the cruise. They do require a credit card to secure the reservation but nothing is charged to the CC.

You should be able to use them to pay the deposit but will have to give them a credit card number to secure the reservation.

Well she earns points which are used towards the purchase of these gift cards. If you are paying her for the e-card then all she loses is the points.

I ordered a gift card from this program and was surprised it had my son's name on the gift card. Our Verizon account is in his name since he worked for Verizon. We got a 50% discount on 5 phones since he was employed by Verizon. My concern in ordering these cards was if his name is on the card and I try to use it would there be a problem?

Has anyone bought the Verizon gift cards for Carnival and used them to set up their sign and sail account? I was told thru Carnival that I could set up the sign and sail card with a credit card and after boarding the ship go and add the gift cards to the account. I was wondering if anyone else had used these cards for their onboard account and also were there any limit to the amount that you can use at one time?

If you search this forum for it, you'll find a big thread on these.

I just signed up myself for points at Verizon. We are on the Splendor Nov 1st. It looks like alot of people on this cruise are using the gift cards for Sail and Sign. Check out the roll call for this cruise and you will see alot of people talking about using Verizon cards. That's how I found out about them. There are alot of pages for this roll call,I think I saw posts about the cards about 2-3 weeks ago.So you don't have to go through all the pages. I'll try to look it up and post here.

My cards have no name on then. Did you do the e gift card or the cruise certificates?

I've used the e-gift cards for the initial reservation and to pay off the booking completely, without giving a credit card for the reservation.

Great to know John I actually ordered another gift certificate not Carnival that one had his name on it. I should have just asked you all if your e-cards had a name on them.
