Does Carnival Read These Posts?

I was wondering if anyone thinks that Carnival reads Cruise Critic reviews and posts? Do complaints about passenger entertainment, DJ's, service cut-backs, photo lines on the gangway, etc. get noticed by Carnival or are they oblivious to what people say?

Yes, of course they do!

Yes. This is a source of consumer information that they can access at no cost, so they would be fools not to monitor it.

I think that they depend a lot on new customers.

New customers spend more and are don't have expectations that past guests do.

When their supply of new customers thins out, then they reach out with offers to past customers.

And, like the photos on the gangway getting off at port, they are balancing annoying people against income generated.

So, is it really annoying enough to cause a loss of income?

Probably not.

So there you are.

Yes, Carnival's social media specialist, Mischelle Beattie, has her own verified account here [CCL Mischelle] and occasionally posts if a serious issue arises.

Edit: I'm sure there are other weblurkers here on Carnival's payroll, but we would never know as nobody else posts. The brand ambassador occasionally stops by, along with a few of his subscribers in the head office when a URL is provided.

Other cruise lines, such as Norwegian, happen to love Cruise Critic and its members.

Is that why NCL gave my roll call a little party with tea, coffee, and c

Pastries, and all the officers including the captain came and this year I was told carnival doesn't do that for us?

Yes.

That really sucks. I felt so special on NCL last year, and the officers were so nice and friendly. I was so disappointed that there wasn't gonna be a party this year. I was gonna bring my great aunt as my date (sweetest woman alive I swear) because she loves little things like that and she was disappointed too :(

No, someone on your roll call arranged that.

No, Norwegian has a Cruise Critic M&G on every sailing, regardless of whether or not someone reaches out to NCL to schedule one. If nobody reaches out to them, a room is usually provided. Carnival, you're lucky if the Cruise Director shows up or the brand ambassador arranges for a room or two ships on a stick.

The party NCL gave us was free, carnival doesn't host free CC meet and greet parties, that's what I was told on this board. The NCL board has a whole sticky about how to arrange a CC meet and greet in NCL

Yes, other cruise lines do welcome CC members much better than Carnival.

I don't understand why anyone thinks they deserve special attention just for being a cruise critic member.

I don't think I deserve special attention, my NCL cruise was my first as a CC member and NCL chose to treat me special. I just incorrectly assumed it would be the same on the other lines but when you assume....

It's not about that. Other cruise lines, such as NCL and RCI, go all out to make CC members feel welcomed and valued. Carnival, on the other hand, has made it known that it could care less if there are CC members onboard. Many, myself included, do not understand this attitude from Carnival.

Of course they do although they will never admit to it.

I have recently started sailing MSC and they respond to threads when there are questions asked and are open about their interest in the forums.

I don't think that I deserve special attention, this is something NCL chooses to do so they think CC members deserve the attention.
