Well, you are getting your wish. Royal Caribbean has agreed to massively increase their passenger count at the port (which can only come from adding a ship), and Norwegian has agreed to start home porting a ship there.

I was just off the Oasis this morning and for what it is worth I was told by a few different crew the Oasis will indeed be home ported in Port Canaveral. While I welcome the Oasis, my hope is the port would get one of the up coming new builds. We shall see.... lots of effort going into making this port a destination.

Update on the new terminal 1

We were there today and they were working and it has been put up fast. I am not sure about it being done in Nov, maybe the end. I was glad they allowed us to get into Grills today. I feel for them the most with the traffic and dust. It was always the ramp for local boaters. The park, parking and bathrooms are gone. I am dreading traffic on days when there will be more than three ships in and out.

I suppose that Freedom will use the new terminal till they decide what other ship will be coming.

Have they started work on the actual pier? You cannot really see it on the webcam.
