cruisetrail Posted August 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) The Carnival Liberty has been rated very high in Cruise Critic "Cruisers' Choice" 2014. Liberty experts, what is so special about this ship? Is it time to book a cruise? Please share your thoughts... SMSACE6 Posted August 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2014 It is a winner with me anyway! I have only been on the ship once and that was five years ago, but can only say that it left me such great memories. Everything just seemed to be outstanding. I dont usually get affected by decor, but this was one of the prettiest ships I have ever been on, (I like color), and that includes the two ships from other lines that I have sailed. So, for me not one thing in particular, but just everything combined makes Liberty a winner to me. But I have to say,,when it comes to cruises/cruiseships, I am not hard to please.:)
2Shoes2Go Posted August 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Just off the eight night. We had a great time. The crew and officers were excellent. Food was good. Shows were better than PlayList Productions. Onboard music hit or miss. Cory, CD, very personable and fun! :) Internet is horrid, don't even attempt it. GS -- without pity.:(
SkyMaster Posted August 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I agree with 2Shoes. Nothing in particular that you can point to, (other than the outstanding shows, and ten piece LIVE band). Everyone seems to have an upbeat, positive attitude, and this ship has the best of both worlds. 1.0 entertainment, and 2.0 food! The lovely Mrs. Jones just returned from an 8 day aboard this fantastic ship, and even though she's done 75 cruises or more, she commented this morning that the "Liberty" cruise was the best she can remember. I agree with her! ;) "SKY"
FSRoberts Posted August 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I've always kind of wondered what was different. The Conquest, Glory, and now Freedom have the 2.0 enhancements, and are thus nearly identical to this ship. How is this ship so far above those? Rare Jamman54 Posted August 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Also just off the Liberty. Agree with all of the above. This cruise ranked in my top 5 for sure. Was it perfect....no, but the crew was!! I will be doing a picture review soon. Still on vacation this week. :D
Kidsgoneletscruise Posted August 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Liberty was our first ship on Carnival and were swept off our feet! It's not all perfect, no, however they do A LOT right. ;)

SummerXU Posted August 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I haven't been on Liberty in 5 years, but even then I remember how impressed I was with her. And still now, it's one of my favorite cruises.
lovecarnivalcruises Posted August 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Was on the Liberty late July. Was great, was not to small and not to big. I loved the Adult Aft pool. I would get up and take a swim every morning.

ferfoodle Posted August 18, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2014 I've always kind of wondered what was different. The Conquest, Glory, and now Freedom have the 2.0 enhancements, and are thus nearly identical to this ship. How is this ship so far above those? I have only been on the Liberty and Freedom in this class and I much preferred the Liberty. For starters, IMO, the decor is the prettiest in the fleet and flows (a smooth transition from one public area to another). The Freedom's decor I thought gaudy and choppy. However, the staterooms are identical. Like some have mentioned above she only has some of the 2.0 upgrades. She was the first in the Fleet to get them. She has Guy's, Blue Iguana Cantina, Alchemy Bar as well as others. But she doesn't have Hasbro or Playlist Productions. A lot of people feel these cheapened the entertainment vs. enhancing it. She still has the old school shows with 10 piece band.

Could you possibly find out who the live band is that is playing at the casino and if they will be there in October and post it when you get back? Thank you in advance. Have a great cruise!! cingroomer Posted September 15, 2014 #18 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Reading this is making me even more anxious to get on the Liberty this coming Sunday. We have done the Dream a couple times and loved it, and also some of the other smaller ships, but the Liberty sounds like its going to be fantastic. Luke104 Posted September 15, 2014 #21 Share Posted September 15, 2014 I was on the "Liberty" three times in the last six months, just love it. (I just got off the "Glory" this past Saturday & it wasn't the same or even close!). Enjoyed the Liberty much more and looking forward to be back on it in the near future. The welcome aboard show was just great! Comedy shows , just super! The show "JUST ROCK" is a must see, you won't be disappointed. The live music was awesome! cingroomer Posted October 9, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I've already booked The Liberty again for March for her last sailing out of Port Canaveral to San Juan. I am so excited. Great ports too.
SkyMaster Posted October 9, 2014 #23 Share Posted October 9, 2014 The lovely Mrs. Jones is aboard currently, and I talked to her from Belize. She's having a FABULOUS time aboard again, and it wouldn't surprise me if she books YET AGAIN when she gets home! As noted above, "Liberty" has the best of all worlds! Great ship, fantastic crew, outstanding shows and the absolute finest/funest cruise you can find IMO! :D (HMMMM, maybe I should book before she gets home. One of us has to be here all the time, and she'll book for December before I get the chance!) "SKY"
kireelady Posted October 9, 2014 #24 Share Posted October 9, 2014 I really enjoyed the Liberty. I can't put my finger on it, but it is by far one of my favorite ships. Everything just seemed "great"...the staff, the cabin, the layout of the ship, the food, etc... We had an awesome time with no complaints at all.
