delirious9876 Posted September 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2014 I of course appreciate that opinions are subjective but can anyone give me their view of Bobby Brown as he is the CD on an upcoming cruise. Thanks. Before I get flamed or dozens of posts about this I am a person who does think a CD adds or takes away from my cruise. I appreciate you might not. :)

Sky616 Posted September 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Didn't care for him but to each their own. Of course we had Richard Spacey for most of our other cruises. After him everyone else is a disappointment.

critterchick Posted September 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2014 I love him. There's just something about him. Gina There is. He is one of our favorites. He is low key, droll and always out and about the ship.
sr4mjc Posted September 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Don't miss his 'cake decorating' class with the Black Forest Cake, I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. I thought he was great.
matj2000 Posted September 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2014 I can't believe people actually know names of cruise directors. Of all my trips, I could not tell you one thing about any of them, let alone their names. Except one female CD who made announcements with a great English accent. I think that was on the Carnival Fantasy...
mommabean Posted September 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Tell me . . . . . . what's that something ????? Maybe it's the kilt. :) He's just very nice, pleasant and his wife works along side him as activities manager. He's been around a long time so he's experienced. He's not loud and crazy but I don't care for that type of cruise directing. He's a very normal, regular Scotsman, only you can understand him. :) Gina

I think that was on the Carnival Fantasy... I had Big Tex on Carnival Fantasy and then Butch the next time. And Stu on Carnival Spirit. :D All three were memorable and I really liked them all. I remember more about them than most RCI cruise directors. I remember Bobby well because we've been on board with him a lot. There are plenty I don't remember at all. jennywren46 Posted September 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2014 The Black Forest gateaux demo has to be one of the funniest things I've seen . (Say no more). Bobby Brown was one of the best we've had along with Joff Eaton and Graham Seymour as I have to admit there the only ones I remember .
goodycruising Posted September 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) We liked Bobby and Becky. The atmosphere was good and I would be happy to see him as listed as a CD on a cruise I was going on. negc Posted September 17, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Bobby and his wife, Becky are among our favorites along with Joff and Clo. If you have sailed with any of them you should definitely remember their names.

Goof3 Posted September 17, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Just another data point, we've only been on a few cruises but 2 of them were with Bobby as the CD. We like him, the man seems to be everywhere and we sometimes wondered if he ever sleeps. As others have noted, he is fairly low-key but funny, I've seen his cake decorating session twice but I would certainly make sure to see it again if I had the chance. He is actually the only CD I remember.

Well that's why I wrote it. I think about 90% of the CD are almost exactly the same. They even use many of the same jokes. After many trips they all blend together and I tune them out. I guess it's hard because they have to try to appeal to a broad group of people at the same time. Now that I am thinking about it, I remember a guy with a Union Jack blazer and some fat guy who called himself "big sexy" ...

Norwich Cruiser Posted October 13, 2016 #21 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Has another two weeks left and does a reasonable job just introduces and closes the shows that's about it.
filmstar40 Posted October 16, 2016 #22 Share Posted October 16, 2016 He was on Adventure when we sailed on her. Our opinion - boring, dull and humph. The dude on our last cruise Cuddy was way better than any over the last few years. But to be honest most carry out a same pre programmed routine. crosby99 Posted October 16, 2016 #23 Share Posted October 16, 2016 He is ok. Not sure where his wife was on Harmony as was with someone called Hugo. Better than 2 previous CDs on oasis class ships Think it is a very hard ship to be CD on.

Was profoundly impressed by how he tactfully managed someone whose English was very poor through the Marriage game. Poor lady had no idea what her husband had got her into.
