shoe sandal dilema for rain

Hi our neixt cruise is a TA from Rio to Spain in March. This is the season when we may encounter rain as well as hot sun while we're on trips or just walking around the Ports site seeing, We have have about 6 or 7 ports of call in Brazil as we head north up the coast before turning out across the Atlantic.

My normal footwear in hot sunny climates are my croc Patricia sandals, which are a bit slippy if my feet get wet. I normally wear sun dresses and take an emergency plastic poncho, but what to do about footwear in possible tropical rain?

How do you ladies cope in these conditions? I don't want to wear any type of sports style shoe...just not my style

Keen water shoes! Absolute best. Walk right into the water, walk out, dry in a couple of minutes. Well worth the $$$. I've had my black (Whisper Light) ones for 4 years & they still look & feel brand new

Plastic or rubber shoes DO get slippery when wet! Unless it's raining so hard that you'll be in standing water, I would think any other kind of sandal (leather, or something with a strap) would be just fine! There are other shoes besides Crocs!

Recommend Jambu Beach-Terra Marine. I bought these for a trip to Tahiti and found myself wearing them all the time. They are very comfortable and are fantastic for the water. They dry very quickly and are just good to look at.

Sorry didn´t like the look of the Keens , much too clumpy looking for me. I know there re other shoes than crocs, that´s why I asked 9_9.

Iwant a lady like sandal or shoe that won´t look silly in the rain, perhaps I´m asking too much

Hust off to look at Jambu Beach

I have several pairs of leather sandals that I'll wear in light rain. One pair is Aerosoles so they're comfortable and look okay. The ones I have are bronze and the look a lot like these:

I didn't pay a lot for them so if they're ruined after a season it's no big deal.

Recently I bought a pair of Rockport shoes that are great for wet weather. They have mesh sides. They may be sportier than you want, but they were super comfortable on our last cruise - and the soles do not slip.

I don't care for how the Keen or Jambus look myself.

How about these Pumas? I have the Zandy in mesh and also the Axel. The Axel I actually wear as water shoes and use them when I go to the water park. The bottoms are very non slip. Lots of colors and the mesh makes them dry quick. However the Axel doesn't have a lot of padding on the bottom. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=puma%20flats

I think that the Puma shoes are the cutest. I had similar ones that I wore to work, and I always got compliments from patients. I would agree that if you are into a lot of arch support and padding, these wouldn't be the best shoes for you.

I just love these Teva sandals. They are not "clunky" and look fine with a skirt. I've had the webbing model, and just got the metallic black ones -- very cute. They also come in a waterproof nubuck leather. They are EXTREMELY comfortable on my feet.
