We also did the Lumberjack show in Ketchikan, and enjoyed it. Corny, but fun! We were on the next to last cruise of the season when we went, and it was 85 degrees there. The rest of the trip was in the 50-60 degree range - a heavy sweatshirt and waterproof windbreaker was enough for us to be comfortable in.

Fantastic review, great pictures!

We plan to take a cruise to Alaska and every bit of information helps. I'm taking the notes as I read your review.

Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Oh, and Live Long and Prosper!:D:D:D

After doing a virtual "walk about" in and through Ketchikan and the seemingly endless parade of souvenir shops and such we headed back aboard our Carnival Miracle grabbing something to eat up at Horatio's topping it off with something sweet out on the Serenity Deck.

Overlooking The DI Jewelry of Cozumel...Err I Mean Ketchikan.

Now after hanging out and also nodding off for a bit I thought it might be fun to try out one of the hammocks that on a Caribbean cruise are always filled up but we seemed to have the place all to ourselves so watch out hammock here I come!

Thanks once again to our Friends and Tablemates Angie & Greg for the very tasty bottle of wine they brought for us - it was great! Perhaps we can repay the favor on the Carnival Conquest in April 2015 or the Carnival Vista in May 2016? Salute!

My boots (some 20 years old now) are from Ozark Trail.

My brides, that are nearly clones of mine are Nevados (on Amazon 20 bucks) that we ordered around a month before we sailed. They also have "SBSG" - Suspension Bridge Sure Grip! :D

We came all set for Alaska Snow, Ice, and Cold....what did we get....Florida winter when we get a cold front coming through - 50 degree temps most days, no snow, and the only ice we experienced was at the glaciers and glacier bay.

We even bought a dozen "HotHands Hand Warmers and NEVER USED any of them; I wish I kept the receipt!

We have yet to go to Alaska on a cruise but will in the near future. Again, Thanks for sharing.

PS

That cat looks like a "Norwegian Forest Cat". She is the spitting image of ours.

You are correct. He is a Norwegian Forest Cat. One of two in my household.:D

I just stumbled on your review yesterday (VERY slow day at work!) And while I have no interest in an Alaska cruise at this point, I am enjoying your review very much. I did wave to the Miracle each Tuesday during the summer as she was docked at pier 91 in Seattle.

Thanks for the great review....heading to the Mediterranean now...or at least your review of your Med cruise.
