Steakhouse Reservations & Free Wine Questions

I want to try the Steakhouse for the 1st time on my cruise next week. How do I make reservations. I am hoping I can make them after I board because I would like to see the MDR menus for the week first.

 

Also, I know it comes with a free bottle of wine if I choose the 1st night. Is this one bottle per person or per cabin?

1 bottle per cabin for wine... you can make the reservation before you go, or after you board. The first night is the most popular, so if you wait until you board it could be sold out for the first night, or you may not be able to go when you want... the rest of the week, you will probably not have an issue waiting until you board, as its usually not that crowded.

You can either make reservations using the Carnival website - manage my booking/activities/steakhouse reservations or email the steakhouse directly.

Not too long ago I remember reading that the free bottle of wine was

extended to the 2nd evening in the steakhouse as well. Can anyone

confirm? That may be helpful to the OP.

A recent review from the Conquest has the same information in the posted Fun Times. I was thinking maybe it was a typo in the Fun Times - not that those exist :p.

We booked the steakhouse on the Sunshine on the first day for the second night. We had a reservation for 9, and received 5 bottles of wine, or one for each sitting /setting of two people.

Thank-you everyone. You have been very helpful. After reading all your posts, I think we will book ahead of time for the first night. Although I always love the food in the MDR, the first night's menu is our least favorite. I'm not really concerned about only getting one bottle of wine. My son doesn't drink anyway and I certainly won't be drinking the whole bottle by myself. I just thought it might be nice to have some for later in the cruise, no biggie. Thanks again everyone. :)

When do you get confirmation of your steakhouse reservation? I booked the first night way ahead for our upcoming Dec 6 cruise and never received any sort of confirmation.
