scooter01 Posted November 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2014 We are very close to booking a cruise (which stops in Key West) and our only concern is that we would be getting there ~0700-0800 AM and wondering what to do before the bars/shops open? Thanks for suggestions or opinions!!!! ;)
Kamloops50 Posted November 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Shops will probably open in time for the passengers of the cruise ships to shop. The bars might be delayed a little before opening.
cb at sea Posted November 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2014 I would eat a leisurely breakfast, and not be in a rush to get off!

Actually it will be just the opposite. The bars will open first and then the shops. Schooner Wharf opens at 0700. Mike:)

Two Friends on Front Street opens at 8:00 a.m. The Schooner Wharf Bar is even earlier serving at 7:30 a.m., and you can sip a beer with the "Breakfast Club" there. Strolling around the Bight early in the morning is nice. You can watch the fishing and snorkeling boats prep for the morning trip out. Pjk
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I would get off the ship early if this is your first time visiting Key West and just walk around. It is very walkable and at that hour it's just nice to walk by some of the residential areas and some of the other areas in town before it gets mobbed with tourists. By 9:00 AM you can get into some of the attractions if you are so inclined. Keith
MuffyKismet Posted December 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Rent Bicyles and enjoy the quiet of the morning hours in Key West, perfect time to enjoy all the side streets and uniqueness of Key West before the hustle and bussel starts. OR if you love to snorkel book the early morning snorkel trip through Sebago tours (not through the cruise ship, other wise it will be crowded). Beautiful ride out to the reef and very enjoyable snorekling and back in plenty of time to browse a bit near the Marina or Duval!
