cruiseluv Posted January 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Hello, I have cruised on the Sojourn and was very happy with it. I'm now considering a cruise on the Odyssey. My understanding is that the layout is about the same, but I seem to recall some comments when the ship first came out that there was vibration in some sections. I would appreciate if anybody that has been on the ship can shed some light on this. Thank you!
ab21au Posted January 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2015 I also have read that but there was none when I was on it 18 months ago.
Mr Luxury Posted January 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2015 There was a slight vibration when the Odyssey was launched but it has been fixed now. Sent from my iPad using Forums
LEESRE Posted January 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Sailed on her in November last year and we did not feel any vibration.
wripro Posted January 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2015 And the layout is not "about the same," it's identical.
palladian Posted January 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2015 We stayed in suite 800 last Oct. there was some vibration but only when the ship was powering up to speed then it went away nothing to be concerned about at all.
Mr Luxury Posted January 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2015 And the layout is not "about the same," it's identical. Except that the Odyssey has a sauna and a steam room in the men's changing room. The other two ships have only a sauna in the men's changing room. Mr Luxury Posted January 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Since I never visit either I was unaware of that. Sorry. Karl was at Cape Town Airport yesterday bound for Heathrow to get to grips with the Viking Star. He is excited to be overseeing this lovely looking ship. I wish him well and can't wait to try the Viking Star. Sent from my iPad using Forums

wripro Posted January 6, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 6, 2015 MrL, So glad you ran into Karl. Viking is so lucky to have him. I just hope everything else they do measures up.
2SailingNomads Posted January 11, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 11, 2015 MrL, So glad you ran into Karl. Viking is so lucky to have him. I just hope everything else they do measures up. Except that the Viking "ocean ships" have 930 pax and are not all inclusive. I for one would run up a good sized bar tab as would other SB sailors with only beer and wine included with meal. wripro Posted January 12, 2015 #14 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Nobody said Viking was all inclusive. But I'd be willing to pay for a few martinis to have Karl at the helm.
