dee1321 Posted January 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Where do you suggest staying for one night prior to leaving Port Canaveral? Want clean accommodations with pool. Just husband and I arriving around noon the day prior to departure. Looking into renting a car from MCO to the port area in order to be able to stop at store for last minute items including wine. We would need to return car prior to departure the next morning. Also, would like restaurant suggestions for dinner the night before leaving on Freedom of the Seas in April. ciera123 Posted January 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) After reading many high recommendations on this board, we're staying at Residence Inn. It's very close to the port and several of the always talked about restaurants. The other 2 hotels, Country Inn & Suites and Radisson, also get good reviews. We're renting from Avis at MCO, then returning Sunday morning at the Cape Canaveral location just down the street from Residence Inn. JohninDC Posted January 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2015 We now prefer to stay in the Orlando area in stead of near PC - with a car you have 1000's of options for hotels and dining. The Buena Vista area near WDW is very nice.
Rare John&LaLa Posted January 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2015 No need to be next to port with a car. Stay in Cocoa Beach, just 5 or 10 minutes further. Hilton has a nice pool and Tiki bar. Great beach also. Have dinner or drinks at the Cove and watch ships leave on Saturday. Can't do that in Orlando
Marie51 Posted January 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2015 We recently stayed at Residence Inn. It was very nice and I would not hesitate to stay there again. They have a complimentary breakfast. The front desk gave us recommendations for dinner. We ended up at Fishlips...food was good.
Corby114 Posted January 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Country Inn and Suites is a beautiful hotel located in Cape Canaveral just south of Port Canaveral. A clean hotel with a nice staff and a beautiful pool. Fishlips and Grills are located on Glen Cheek Drive and is a short drive from the hotel. They have excellent seafood and a great view of Port Canaveral from their location.
Rare John&LaLa Posted January 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Here is the beach for the Hilton. The Raddison, Residence and Country Inn don't have anything like this and you still have to drive to the Cove to eat.

Mac9624 Posted January 24, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2015 we have stayed numerous times. Very good hospitality, nice pool area and at times will be a guitarist playing music by Tiki-Bar. Great Park'N Cruise deal and shuttles have never let us down in the 4-5 times we have stayed. Good People.
cruiseapril Posted January 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2015 We also like the Radisson. Nice pool area. Walk next door to good restaurant. Good shuttle service. Helpful front desk.
We<3WDW Posted January 28, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2015 We like the Sheraton 4 Points Cocoa Beach. Restaurant there has good food and great happy hour. It's right next door to the Ron Jon, kids love their tshirts. You can walk to the beach and that is a big plus for us. Oh, and Starbucks is there too. Walgreens and McD's across the street. We just like the area and beach access better than the port area. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare John&LaLa Posted January 28, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 28, 2015 [quote=We did 4 Points once, great happy hour, but worst pool in Cocoa Beach. Luckily they let us use Radisson pool. Nice walk to beach as well
