Can't wait to see pictures and read your reviews. We are going Western in May. It will be our second cruise. The first one was many years ago on the Explorer so this really feels like a first cruise experience all over again only this time the kids are grown. Thanks for sharing.

Tomorrow is Labadee and I will be posting later in the afternoon. There will be many pictures and commentary.

The cruise compass tonight promises sunny skies and 92 degree temps.

Who loves Labadee????

ME!

See you all tomorrow, LIVE from the Freedom of the Seas!!

Compared to Toronto I'd take it. -3F here in Ohio today.

Wow, what a difference 2 weeks makes. When we were there on the Explorer, it rained ALL day and was all of about 70. I am so glad for you.

Loving your review! Also, I think that store was there when we sailed last Sept. but not sure!

I agree, I'm pretty sure that it was there when we sailed in Sept as well. I remember going in and walking out when I saw the prices.

Thanks again for doing this, Robyn! If you're walking by the piano bar after dinner one night, could you please snap a shot of how crowded it is? Is there more than one piano bar?

There is only one in the schooner bar. I can't remember who it was a couple of weeks ago(Paul something). If it is him then it will be very busy. He was maybe the best I have seen on a ship. He does a great job with requests and passes out a sheet every night with all of the songs listed you can pick from. He even downloaded the music to a few requests from the previous night. He made it very interactive and that pulled in a lot of people. I have also had some that weren't so good and it was easy to find a seat but they weren't nearly as engaging with the crowd. After the first or second night people would show up around 930 to make sure they had seating around 10-15mins in it would be standing room only.

Robyn, I would be interested in knowing how the situation with mosquitoes is in Labadee tomorrow, if you have time, as I have heard mixed things about that port. Just wondering how many precautions we should be taking, if we should get the malaria prevention medicine.

I have been to Labadee many times (1st there in 1991 on the Sovereign of the Seas) and I don't remember ever seeing a mosquito. Mosquitos don't like the wind and Labadee is always windy! Don't worry.

Or heat, and we are usually there at the hottest part of the day. PS to Scott, had to re-read your user name. At first I thought I don't want to cruise with anyone with the name of Monsoon. :o

I don't remember Labadee being very windy. It is usually scorching hot!

You might be thinking of Coco Cay, the other private island. It is always windy there.

What a day!!!!

The weather was EXACTLY as promised, 92 and sunny, and not a single cloud in the sky :D We could not have asked for a better day!

For those who are wondering about mosquitos - None, Zilch, Nada. Go and enjoy and stop worrying! Labadee was not windy at all today....

FYI - there is a heated pool on the Freedom! I didn't think any pools on RCI were heated, but there is a heated one on here. If you are facing aft, it is the pool on the right.

The Piano bar is busy. We walked by last night on the way to the late night comedy show and it was packed. The sing along is always fun and a popular event. Especially when everyone is singing "Sweet Caroline" LOL

I am trying to upload some pics of Labadee and Photobucket is so slow!!! GRRRR! The internet overall has been pretty good, so I shouldn't complain.

Wait! I think one just uploaded!!

Okay, I think we are in business for pictures...

We spent the day on Barefoot Beach in our Over the water Cabana - it was pure heaven. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. We shared the cost with the couple we are cruising with, so we didn't feel the full bite of the $250 fee :o We had a dedicated cabana attendant, and we didn't have to get up at all for drinks - I am quite sure I had one too many Labadoozies :p

Guests of those staying in suites are welcome on Barefoot Beach - we were told otherwise last year on the Explorer.

The buffet was upgraded (I think someone asked?) and the menu was steak, shrimp skewers, bbq ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, lots of salad and some nice desserts.

We didn't venture off Barefoot Beach, so all the photos I took are from the vantage point of the cabana. I laid in the sun all day, in the water, on my floaty mat :D I figure I need a good strong dose of vitamin D before I hit the cold next week. Let's not talk about cold, I still have 5 nights to enjoy this fabulous ship!

Tonight is Drew Thomas's "Now You See It" Magic show. We have late seating so I will be at the 7PM show. I am really looking forward to seeing the show again - there is always something exciting about it each time :)

FYI - if you make 3 or more specialty restaurant reservations, you can save up to 30%.

Casino Royale has a happy hour between 5-7PM - you can save 25% on all house brand cocktails.

Tonight's dinner in the MDR is ****ake.

I keep checking to see if my pictures are uploading, but they are not :(:(

I will try again later tonight. I will be back later to answer any questions you may have.

Glad you are enjoying the cruise with me!!

Jane - I absolutely love your reviews, I am a raving fan!!!

I'm glad you are enjoying my pictures. Stupid Photobucket is not cooperating at the moment and it is annoying me!!! I have so many more to share!

Maybe you can squeeze in a cruise before the end of April???;) You are retired, go for it my friend!

Yes - we arrived on time this morning, and we left promptly at 4PM. All aboard was for 3:30PM.

I don't think there are any real issues with speed, but there is vibration on the aft. I'm quite happy I don't have an aft cabin this time :o
