carinainacar Posted August 29, 2015 #126 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Thanks for sharing the secrets.I'll be on the Crown in a few weeks with high anticipation now. I hope you enjoy the Crown! I'm sailing on her in December. :) Now knowing all of the dessert options, I'm even more excited. Looking forward to trying the volcano and the "Cruise Chip", sounds delicious! calvin31 Posted August 29, 2015 #127 Share Posted August 29, 2015 The Volcano is the best. Sometimes it pays to have kids just to have easy access to all of the hidden options out there. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
iceleven Posted August 29, 2015 #128 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Seriously?! I thought the breakfast choices were quite limited, based on conversations elsewhere. Thanks for the big tip!! I forgo the bagel and just order the salmon with cream cheese on a plate. I then will enjoy it with a croissant instead. BTW, I have seen the salmon at the buffet but they will "hide" it under one of the stations. It's possible someone asked to have it available daily for them and they were obliged. Frogemax Posted August 29, 2015 #135 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Yes, got it now, but I do have to stop and work out a lot of abbreviations used on here. I'm a newbie looking forward to my first ever cruise in 69 days. I usually work them out but the DH was beyond me. I'm sure that by the time I'm on board I will be fluent in CC lingo! MandD Posted August 29, 2015 #144 Share Posted August 29, 2015 It's like another language... The link furnished by GUT2407 has very good info, and if you can't find it there Google is your friend (although I personally usually use DuckDuckGo.com) Another confusing acronym is SIL which could stand for son-in-law or sister-in-law. crochetcruise Posted August 29, 2015 #147 Share Posted August 29, 2015 For those who like to walk knee-deep in water DW could be Darth Wader... :D THANK YOU FOR THE HOWLS OF LAUGHTER! I needed a good belly laugh after having a nasty fright when checking my Cruise Personalizer, I'd been moved from the Handicapped Accessible Window Suite to next door. My poor Travel Agent had an agitated client to deal with, most competent she was too! She phoned Princess, and got the Window Suite returned to the original booking. The lady on the phone explained that Princess reserved the right to move people, she was told I am listed as requiring the Handicapped Accessible Bathroom and had therefore booked the only such Window Suite on the Golden Princess. Apparently if someone who is wheelchair dependent wants to book the Suite, I can get shifted, which would be a downgrade to a Premium Balcony, I am not safe in a regular bathroom, I MUST have the safety grab rails. I'm fortunate enough to be able to still be able to manage on a Rollator walking frame, a wheelchair may be in the FAR distant future though. I'm within 3 official days of the end of my Winter Season, and have started a streaming cold! Nose is pretending to be a tap, and getting sore with the continual mopping! Yes I've applied moisturiser and am using Aloe Vera tissues bought on special-my Mom taught me to be a careful shopper. And the more I save, the more gets "squirrelled" into the Cruise Savings Account for On Board Credit, Casino Credit, Culinary Delights, Specialty Dining, am 8" x 10" Photo and frame to remember my first cruise by and souvenirs to give to friends. Someone on another thread mentioned Vitamin C tablets, I shall be going to the supermarket tomorrow and getting some, I forgot I'd run out! Still feeling fit enough to enjoy my nightly drool on Cruise Critic though, so it's more annoying than serious.
KruzeKrazy! Posted August 29, 2015 Author #148 Share Posted August 29, 2015 crochet cruise - Feel better! On our first full suite cruise on the CB my wife had a nasty cold, headache, etc. the whole time but we went, took it easy, and enjoyed the "forced" R&R. Now we view R&R over constant activities as our priority for cruising. We're leaving in 28 days (from today -- yoohoo!!!) for our 40th anniversary cruise in French Polynesia and we're probably going to get and pay for our annual flu shots before we go instead of in Oct when usually get them paid by insurance. Better safe......
Sea Hag Posted August 29, 2015 #149 Share Posted August 29, 2015 That looks yummy, but I have to say mine was different. It had chocolate and vanilla ice cream and had pineapple, hot fudge and strawberry toppings also. In our experience, volcanos are like snowflakes. No two are the same. But unlike snowflakes all volcanos are delicious.
