Silversea all inclusive

I especially hate the included onshore once a cruise events. They are invariably two hours of folk singing with some lousy canapés and local wine. I once almost set off a fire alarm just to get out of there.

Setting off fire alarms is always an option.

Tv24,

Rossi is an assistant maitre d'hotel in the MDR under Nick Botha, maitre d'hotel and F&B Mgr Marco. Yes, Rossi is a valuable asset- funny and warm in person but also diligent and thorough when busy.

Right now we are in rolling seas en route from HK to the Philippines' Thousand Islands. It's the first time in close to a month that we feel we are on the ocean.

Happy sailing!

Hi markham,

Glad to hear you are still having a great cruise. Please send my best wishes to Rossi and Marco.......when did Pablo hop off? Also please send warm wishes to Handre, Annabel and Michele, thanks.

Keith and I are missing everything so to help cope with SSA (Seabourn Separation Anxiety) I have started planning for next years cruise. Looking forward to seeing you then.

As some of you know, I would once have agreed with the comment against inclusive wine on P.1. of this thread, but am a recent convert to the all-inclusive wines system on Seabourn. I used to wonder the same thing, ie., 'whats wrong with just signing for it?' However, we just did a very enjoyable Windstar cruise and had a great time - but although we don't always want a drink with our meals, the signing each time when we did, strangely, made a difference. The (pretty decent) all-inclusive wine on Seabourn generated much more of a sociable holiday atmosphere and we missed that on our last cruise.

As for excursions being inclusive - boo to that. We have had a number of people recommend Silversea and may still give it a try, but I am not keen on being charged for excursions I may not wish to use.

Frantic,

Pablo left in HK, the day Nick took over. Rossi has made an immediate contribution for the better in his section of the MDR.

Yes, I will give your regards to our gang of 10. The ship seems calmer since you disembarked. Not that you had anything to do with the improvement. Just sayin'. For example, the howdy doody meet yer neighbor corridor parties of yesterday looked empty. Whereas on your segment it was all name badges on bathrobes, cowboy hats, velveeta dip and backslapping. I just wish Handre would drop this hokey silliness he apparently imported from Regent. It should have languished in a quarantine warehouse for 6 months by which time sense had been restored. Again, just sayin'.

See you next year, J. Happy sailing!

Handre did not adopt this bizarre get together in your bathrobe in a corridor business while I was on at Christmas and New year.

He knows better than to upset my wife when she is on.

Guests socialised quit happily around the ship in clothes and not in their ablution attire.

I can verify this.

I really can't cope with these odd corridor parties, and would have voiced my consternation loudly had Handre tried it at Christmas.;)
