Last Morning?

We were out by 8:30. It's a busy day for staff and I think it's considerate to give them time to do all they need to do to be ready for the next load of pax.

Took our time disembarking though. Go to deck 8 and relax in a big wicker chair and walk off by 9:30-10:00.

Have fun!

Debarkation is by group, determined by luggage tag colors. Unless you're in a special group, you can pick your time by picking the proper luggage tags from Customer Service, a day or two before the end of the cruise.

On our recent Jewel cruise you were to be out of the cabin by 8:30, which is more generous than some other lines. What I didn't like is that they called the groups quickly, which only resulted in a lot of confusion and long lines for customs, and they were well staffed.

Guests on BA were asked to vacate cabins by 8:30 AM upon returning to NYC, although many pax're out of their cabins rushing for the Express Self-Disembark (long lines by 7:30 AM waiting for ship to be cleared, already docked at Pier 88.

There are plenty of places to sit, relax & wait if you are not in a hurry or have a scheduled pickup - not to mention long lines up to the gangway & inside the terminal. Stay up on Deck 7 or 8 in the public area, we sat & waited a little bit longer in the casino, very comfortable chairs ...

Thank you everyone. We are not in a hurry so we'd like to remain in the cabin then head for a leisurely last breakfast. Hoping to head off the ship around 9:30 for our chartered bus pick up.

Go for your leisurely last breakfast, just get your stuff out of the cabin so the cabin can be cleaned for the next people who are likely on the dock waiting to get on.

As others have said they want you out early as possible so they can prep the rooms . The last times on the GEM it was a mess, people started lining up at 6:30, disregarded all instructions, the main corridor was just a big line waiting to get off ,the whole length of the ship, and we never heard any of the colors being called. In the beginning of the cruise passengers are so happy saying hello and good morning, but when back in NY, it was get the hell out of the way, I need to get off
