Lizzie68...if you mentioned it before, I must have missed it. What cabin or area are you in? Are you the only one having this hot water issue? Just curious because there are some of us who will be boarding Westerdam in the next few weeks.

I am also having a water issue. Not every day like Lizzie, but enough to make it annoying. I will be happy to share my cabin number once the cruise is over.

There must be other cabins as yesterday I couldn't shower at 6AM because the water was freezing. I didn't call to report it as we wanted to be able to get ready to go ashore without sharing the cabin with the plumbing gang. I tested the water at 9:30 just before I intended to place the call and it was super hot, so I am guessing someone else along the line made the call earlier.

We've just had a "reminder" about our Canadian Customs declarations. It says: " We understand that, as a Canadian citizen/resident, you would like to wait for our last port of call (San Diego, April 27) in order to complete an accurate amount to declare on your Custom Form........ We kindly ask you to submit this form to the Front Office ..... no later than 9:00 pm on Monday, April 27."

LOL, Sapper, ya done good!

That is good news for you all.

I will post the cabin number when we are at the end of the cruise. But I have to say that we have had hot water for almost 3 days now, yay!!!

I would ask that any of you who have had problems with doors/water in your cabins would post the numbers. I'll be on her in a year and although it wouldn't make me obsess over my cabin having problems I would like to know.

I love all the pictures you all are sharing. The pictures of Cabo are fantastic. We are taking a whale watching excursion since we will be there in March.

Are there several Australia and New Zealand passengers on board that the ANZAC service was held?

Services were held yesterday (April 25th) throughout Australia and New Zealand, at Gallipoli 10,000 gathered for services, Prince Charles and Prince Harry attended.

Yes. Going by accents, I would say there are a good number on board. Our neighbours on one side are Australian and I spoke with a mother - daughter yesterday waiting for the tender. Another family with 2 girls are from the Brisbane area.

I will post a photo review when I get home. We have only hot water at certain times everyday. Our door to the verandah was fixed yesterday by replacing the whole lock. It works beautifully now.

The ship is moving more than it has all trip as we make our way north to San Diego. Still dark outside so I can't see what the water looks like.

I will be packing up the whole cabin today as DH is leaving tomorrow and taking 2 of the 3 suitcases with him. I have to ensure the clothes and other items remaining will fit in 1 suitcase.

We will be very sad so see members of "the gang" leave tomorrow. It has been a wonderful trip so far.

I'm not part of this "gang" but will be on the 2016 cruise. Looking forward to meeting you then. I'm following along here to learn about HAL and the ship.

Enjoy. Alice

you dojn't have to be part of this year's "gang" to follow along Alice.

Glad to see you here and look forward to meeting you next year :)

At dinner I was told about a seal that would get up on the platform on the back of a fishing boat and wait to be fed. I can't remember his name. I was really surprised when I uploaded my pictures and I had gotten a picture of him (it was one of those days that was so bright that you really couldn't tell what you had).

Thanks Kazu for the food porn. I have to agree, I too have never seen Calamari that big. Question was it good?

It was VERY good. different than other calamari I have had but really, really good.. some of the best I have ever had.

water looks dark to me 1of4. And although the sun has supposedly risen, it is so cloudy the sky is quite dark so hard to tell.

defiiitely a cooler temperature outside.

Since your DH is the one leaving, shouldn't he be doing the packing? LOL

I agree. It is a sad day as too, too many of the sail a way gang are getting off in San Diego.

I am having a hard time understanding how the time went by so very quickly..

I find it's almost always rough between cabo and San Diego. Have done the route more times than any other cruise.

Several of the seals we're doing this, Kathi - obviously the idea has caught on! They were having great success in getting fish this way. I had a lovely afternoon watching all this activity until I nodded off - it was just a little too relaxing.

Scrapnana, it looks like the seal hasn't missed many meals! He/she really is quite adorable, although can you imagine the huge "thump" when it boards the swimming platform?

Kazu, I was wondering if the calamari was quite rubbery because it was so large? Usually the bigger the rings, the older and more tough they are. Glad you were washing it all down with cerveza, you need to keep up your fluids in warm climes. LOL

Smooth Sailing ! :) :) :)

Here's Old Man Winter's last fling (I hope). At this point there's no word of the storm hitting the East Coast, so Kazu, you just might be able to put the dogs in the front yard.

Brutal. Thankfully we didn't get any snow yesterday even though it looked like we would.

And how surprising it would be when the stern dipped and the bow went up in the air!:D

I always buy a prepaid visa...$100 to $500...to take along with our regular credit card before going on any trips...

We use the prepaid visa on hop-on, hop-off buses...or any vendors that look questionable...

If there is any balance left....it can be easily used at home....

What a great idea! :) I am going to do this on our next cruise.

The high, if you can call it that, is 9 in Toronto today. Not nice at all. No wonder it is still snowing north of the city.

we are getting paperwork galore today in preparation of DH disembarking tomorrow and 3of4 bring in transit.

Laundry came back this morning with someone else's tshirt but minus a pair of DS's shorts. The hunt is on!

We went to the front desk to get our account, envelopes for tips, and to bring our paper for disembarking in Vancouver. DH will tip everyone today for this trip so I won't have to try to find people while also enjoying Victoria and packing last minute items.

Tomorrow our bed will be split in 2 and we won't use the sofa-bed again. More cabin pictures for the fact site.

I am very happy, and relieved, to report that Air Canada has NOT chanel my sear for Friday's flight home from Vancouver. The added bonus is one suitcase is free!

Makes you wonder why suitcases cost $25 to Ft Lauderdale but free from Vancouver. The second case would be $20. But since we are 3 flying we get 3 bags free which we don't have anyway.

Our unlimited Internet ends today. Hopefully they will offer it for the 4 day trip. If they do I will buy it...if not, I won't.
