Got my GTY balcony assignment

For my upcoming Equinox Rome to Barcelona. Having mixed emotions. I booked a GTY balcony, and I was really happy to save over 1k PP(!) by not selecting a cabin. Got my assignment today Deck 6 (ok, partially obstructed, just the lifeboats, no big deal). FIRST on the hump (what? are you kidding me? No one booked that? I got it on GTY! WOOOO). Port side (ugh, right above the smoking section. I hate smoking).

 

How would you feel?

I also booked the Equinox (Barcelona to Rome) and got assigned a 2C cabin as well. I was initially assigned one near the back on the Port side but managed to get moved to 6242 (last cabin on the hump on the Starboard side).

 

I'm always OK with a guarantee, the money it saves is worthwhile and ultimately as long as I'm on the ship who cares where. That being said, I've read some earlier reports that 6242 and 6240 on another S-Class ship have a

"white noise" that has bothered some folks. Trying to see if that issue is on the Equinox.

 

For my sailing there are lots of cabins still available (Aug 1st), surprised they are giving out cabin assignments this far in advance (I got mine before final payment was due).

 

Congrats on the hump cabin. Hopefully the smokers don't congregate below you.

You can call X and ask for another cabin within the same category. I have done this before and received a better location.

I did have the beverage package, would

be a bit worried about the smoke on the port

The smokers are on Deck 5 Port, odd numbers!

We were in the cabin directly above the smoking area on Deck 5 (we were deck six cabin on the hump right above) and smoking was not a problem. Shame I stressed about it so much before the cruise.

GTY cabins cant be changed for non USA people.
