kettle in cabin on Eclipse for sailings from Southampton

I think I have read somewhere that on sailings from England Celebrity ships have a kettle in the cabin.

Can anyone confirm. Sailing on Eclipse in August.

Well three years ago on Eclipse they were. We had one in our cabin and we asked the butler to remove it because we didn't need it.

Yes, kettles are provided in the cabin on sailings from Southampton. There will also be little sachets containing coffee, sugar, teabags, etc. - the kind of set-up you get in UK hotel rooms.

Yes, we had a kettle one month ago. Never used it though!

We just departed the Eclipse this past Saturday. The cabins had kettles with tea bags and instant coffee packets. There was also a nice selection of sugars and sweeteners along with sealed containers of cream. There is a larger selection of tea bags in the Cafe.

That's OK - it's not compulsory;):) but we really appreciate this nice little amenity on Southampton sailings!

Suggest you pick up a small carton of milk from the cafe at breakfast & keep it in your fridge

Just an FYI, as soon as the ship finishes the Southhampton season, they are removed from the cabins even on the TA although you can ask your steward for one.

This is true. I was able to get one via request on my 2014 eastbound Eclipse transatlantic ending in Southampton. Very convenient.

Awesome! I am not human till I have had my cup of tea in the morning and have already trained two of my kids to bring me tea in bed. :p

Make sure you bring your own teabags. Possibly the ship will have a different supplier than when in florida so this might not be necessary. Also, the small "fridges" in the staterooms never get cold enough to be called a fridge...cooler box maybe. Nothing gets cold nor keeps cold in them.

I know you really should use freshly boiled (not re boiled) water to make tea, but on UK sailings we order tea and milk etc. for two from room service and simply reboil the water for both my tea and wife's preferred brand of instant coffee which we bring from home. Saves a lot of faffing about getting milk from buffets etc.
