escapefromny Posted July 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2015 This is a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out which ship I would've been on when I took my first =X= cruise. It was late August 2005, and the itinerary began in Seattle, WA and from there went up to Alaska. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the ship! And I'm curious, because I'm wondering if it's the same class (M), or even the same ship, that I'll be on later this year when I finally set sail with Celebrity again. Any ideas??? Northern Aurora Posted July 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2015 I think that Mercury did Alaskan cruises, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone with a better memory about some of the Mercury itineraries?
escapefromny Posted July 24, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Haha, I see guesses are all over the map so far! I don't remember the entire itinerary (I think) but I do recall that the ship stopped in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, if that helps narrow it down a bit. CHEZMARYLOU Posted July 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2015 If you joined the Captains Club with Celebrity, log into you account and your sailing history, including ships, should be there.
snowmaiden Posted July 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2015 It looks like it was the Mercury. http://www.cruising.org/vacation/news/press_releases/2005/02/alaskas-awesome-scenery-and-wildlife-are-best-showcased-ship-2005
Tall Jersey Girl Posted July 24, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Not the summit. Summit was in Alaska August 2005 but cruised between Seward and Vancouver.

Thanks, snowmaiden! That's great, so this means the Summit will be a new class of ship for me. I remember loving the look of the Mercury, very elegant. I'm sure I'll enjoy the Summit just as much, if not more.
dkjretired Posted July 25, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 25, 2015 It was the Mercury, I did a search and went to the last page of cruise critic on this forum which was in 2004. Went ahead a couple of pages and found several threads about Alaska cruises and Mercury was doing Seattle in 2005.

neverbeenhere Posted July 25, 2015 #13 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Since we now have guessed every ship in the fleet and know that it was the Celebrity Mercury, I just wanted to remind you that you were sick that week and missed the cruise. TeaBag Posted July 25, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Yes, Mercury definitely sailed out of Seattle to Alaska. We loved her too. Enjoy the summit. Then you will have to try the S class.

We did Alaska, on the Mercury in 2004 and 2006 and these were the ports we stopped at. I don't know what the itinerary of the other ships mentioned were.
