Interested in having a look inside the synagogue, but not in going to the museum. Is there a charge just to see inside the synagogue?

There is no entrance fee to enter, but a donation is appreciated. There is also a small gift shop as you enter. Services are still held even though the Jewish population on the island is small.

We have been there a few times and not always is there someone to let you in - I don't know if there is a schedule. We will be there in February while on the Eclipse whith an overnight stop.

Photography is permitted inside the synagogue. We have pictures from there. I will say that last year, when we passed the synagogue, there was an entrance fee. Maybe that was just for the museum...not 100% sure.

We visited the synagogue in December 2014. If you can see the thumbnail of our picture, you can see the sign states the $10 US admission is for the museum and synagogue. As Sandy noted, photography is permitted inside.

 

Other people seem to be able to place full sized pictures into a post, but we consistently fail. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the easiest way to get to the synagogue from the cruise port? How much would a taxi be? How far is it?
