Thanks D's mom, I'm thinking I too will be packing wipes. Riclop, probably lots of time in the cabin, neither of us are the party type and appreciate our solitude, ( our profession cause that lol) diving is what we get excited about. :D

Here's my "aft rat" opinion.

On Spirit class ships, the Vista Suites are great. The "regular" afts are only better because of the deeper balcony.

Is the suite worth it? Absolutely not! But they ARE nice.

It's up to you and your budget, I'm afraid:confused:.

I'm trying to get a better feel on whether cabin upgrades are "worth it" or not to.

I realize everybody can come to a different conclusion based with the same facts, because everybody values the cost/suite upgrade+perks subjectively.

We got a bounceback offer for free interior cabin on Pride sailing for seven days in July. We then got an offer to upgrade to a Grand Suite for $600 each.

One way to evaluate the offer is in terms of opportunity cost (money vs. upgrade).

The inside cabin would have cost us $0, but normally goes for about $1,400.

The Grand Suite cost us $1,200, but normally goes for about $4,700.

The way I evaluated it (even though I'm a happy camper in a FREE inside cabin) is this is our chance to experience not just a suite, but a Grand Suite, at a substantial discount, and we can afford $1,200 so we went for it. $4,700? No way.

That said, we have our own peculiarities - my daughter will TREASURE the private dressing room and vanity with private sink. I could care less about that stuff.

Note to daughter - enjoy it because it probably won't happen again!

If you want a nice suite do NCL, they come with Butler service 24/7 and you have a private cell phone. They make all your show reservations, have a private elevator to escort you off the ship on port days, bring you afternoon special snacks and more. Its pretty awesome

Curious about the perks for a suite on CCL compared to others usually much higher price for a suite (ex- Aug 12 out of Miami for 7 day CCL- $3604 and NCL- $7673 though includes drinks, excursions, WiFi, and dining). What else do they get besides what Carnival offers:?

'in addition to priority embarkation and debarkation in all ports and confirmed main dining room preference, suite guests will now receive priority tender service, complimentary in-suite bottled water and one complimentary bag of laundry per voyage, as well as an enhanced turndown service'
