Dinner in the MDR was good tonight. They offered my favorite pasta dish this evening. We arranged to sit with Marlon again next week and were happy about that.

We said good-bye to Gerry and Sandy. It was great cruising with them again.

We still had a little more OBC to spend, so I went to the Promenade and bought a t-shirt.

Then it was back to the cabin.....walking past all that luggage that we didn't have to put out this evening. That's a good feeling!! One of the best on a B2B!!

Hi Jane, I'm sailing with Robyn on our Yearly Girls cruise on the Indy in a few weeks. Wanted to share a funny story with you.

Robyn and I and 5 other women were on the Explorer shortly after you in 2013. I had read your review just before sailing. You had mentioned how you kept running into "Pat" who lives on the Ex. Well, wouldn't you know it, as soon as we walked into the Windjammer shortly after boarding, who is sitting alone at a huge table? You guessed it. I yelled "Pat" at the top of my lungs and ran over to see him and tell him all about your review. He invited us all to join him and we ended up spending a lot of time with him over the next 9 days.

You just never know what little tidbit you will throw out there that will change the course of another readers cruise. :p Thanks for your reviews!!

Nicely said :) That was a great cruise!

Hi Jane, great to see another review! Going to have to try Nachi next time in Cozumel, always hear how nice it is.

Off to St Thomas and St Maarten in January on Freedom - any beach recommendations? Have a feeling you may have a couple up your sleeve :)

Hey Tyler! Right now we are frequenting a small resort in St. Thomas.....Secret Harbour. And on St. Maarten we always go to Palm Beach at the far end of Orient. You won't be disappointed!

Thursday ~ September 24' date=' 2015 ~ Grand Cayman[/u']

No one in our group wanted to go ashore today and fight the tenders and slow taxis, etc., so we stayed on board, too. Normally we like to go to the Westin and get a room for the day. It used to be $120 for 4, but has now gone up to $175 and you have to make non refundable reservations. It IS a great property, though, and we thoroughly enjoyed going there. I think we still may go there in the future, but I think we might just try showing up and see what happens. (As long as we have another couple with us to split the bill!)

So.....staying on board during a port day definitely has it's advantages. After breakfast I put on my bathing suit and staked out a nice spot in the Solarium. Hardly anyone was there!! My kind of place! Al and Phyllis were already in the hot tub!!

DSC08650_zpsurxloil2.jpg

It was so quiet there! I read, slept (that was a popular thing that EVERYONE seemed to be doing!), swam in the pool and enjoyed the hot tub. I ordered a Mango Tango for some reason. I never drink those kind of drinks and I soon remembered why!! Can you say Holy Sugar, Batman!!! I won't be having another one of those any time soon! But it was a delightful morning. I stayed until 1:00 or so!!

DSC08651_zps9gv4vyro.jpg

We had lunch in the uncrowded WJ and then made good use of our internet time until 3:30! Did a lot of reading and resting in the afternoon. We were awakened by a phone call from Raj to ask if we wanted to have dinner with the Captain in about an hour. We had reservations at Giovanni's that night and I just couldn't think fast enough.....so I turned it down. Stupid, stupid, stupid!! I love to eat with the Captain. I was so mad at myself. Oh well.

We met in the Diamond Lounge tonight for drinks. We never go there, although it is a very nice space and has a good view. However it was sooooo loud in there.......I never heard a word that anyone said. It was a different atmosphere. Every now and then Gustavo, the D Concierge, would yell out...."Card Check!" very loudly....and everyone would have to show him their sea pass card to make sure there was no one there that shouldn't be. Interesting!

DSC08657_zpsobredlm5.jpg

We went to Giovanni's for dinner tonight. I ordered the Caesar Salad and the tenderloin......which is my usual in there. We got an order of lasagna for the table. The lasagna was really good, but my dinner was just OK. It's just my opinion that the desserts in Giovanni's are terrible and that was my experience this week. Yuk on everything! I don't know that we will return next week. I'll need to try some different entree's I guess.....or just get the lasagna.

DSC08662_zpsn8e4fthn.jpg

It was very late when we finished dinner, so I think we just retired after that.

So glad to find your review -- can't wait to read the rest as usual.

We had a similar situation on EN when we were asked to sit at the Captain's table and Chuck did not want to so we turned it down. I felt bad because it would have been fun -- it was Captain Tor, who was on FR for the last 3 years but is moving to another ship, who is a very nice Captain.

Another great review!!!!! I laughed out out loud with the Gustavo Butcher "Card Check." The 1st time we saw him do that 20 people got up a ran from the DL.

Jane, great review as always. You're showing lots of love to Raj. I

may have to tell Diego that you're cheating on him. :D

I'm on the Indy Nov 7th and don't see Diego until Feb. Until then I

will live through your reviews.

Thanks for another great review, Jane. Regarding the Internet and your D+ internet day -- have you tried waiting until later in the cruise? On Liberty recently we were able to get 5 days worth of time. We used DH's day early in the week. Later on when I went to log in there was one day available or $80 off a package. Since there were only 4 days left of the trip I picked the 4 day package for $80 = free with coupon! Did that twice - once on the 5 day trip to Bermuda - where we ended up in Canada, and then on the 9 day trip to NE/Canada. If all ships do this I will be one happy cruiser!

Thanks! I think I knew about that, but wasn't sure how to do it. Will look into that. John and I don't share devices, so that might have something to do with it.

Yay. another MM review. And you kept your word, really flew thru the first week.

I feel so sorry for you, having to buzz thru this write up because you are going on another cruise. Sob:eek:.

From your sig I see that you will be giving the Radiance class ships a real workout in the next 14 months. Maybe you should look around to book a week on the Radiance and then you would have a "natural" calendar year grand slam on this class of ship.:D

Looking forward to the next week.

Sunday ~September 27, 2015 ~ Fort Lauderdale

I was up at 6 this morning. We were just sailing into the channel at that time and I got some pictures. Beautiful morning.

DSC08742_zpsnq79pyy3.jpg

Even though we don't have to pack up and leave today.....we still get up very early because we like to get a good MDR breakfast, and the dining room closes at 8. After breakfast we rested in our cabin until it was time for our turn around.

We met in the Pyramid Lounge at 9:45. There were quite a few of us. There was some kind of problem with customs and the ship was not clearing as fast as it should. So it took us a lot longer to get off and back on.

DSC08745_zpsdkpwom4s.jpg

We even had to go out into the Suite Guest waiting area in the terminal and wait for a while.

DSC08750_zpsxhbiln69.jpg

This was funny........when the customs guy came out to look at our passports, he told everybody to open our passports to the correct page and hold them up. So everybody held them over their heads......and he said, "OK.....you're good to go!" That was a first!

All in all, this process took a little over an hour or so. Not the worst we've ever been through, but certainly not the best!

DSC08748_zpsksf8wt8v.jpg[/url

When we got back on the ship, we went to the Café Promenade to wait for our friends, Eddie and Carol, who would be on this sailing. They got on right away and we enjoyed catching up with them. It had been a couple of years!

HA HA!! Good one, Dave......a grand slam. Would love to do that. The Radiance Class ships are the best!!! They treat us like rock stars on every one. Not so on the big ships.

Had lunch in the WJ around 1:00 when everyone would be going to their cabins.. It wasn't too bad. We noticed that the demographics were definitely going to be different on this cruise from last cruise! That's about always the way!

I went up to the Sky Bar after muster to meet up with the roll call group, but I could only find one couple. The younger crowd was having a good time.

DSC08753_zpsmodtyckm.jpg

The Solarium was nice and quiet at this time.

DSC08755_zpsdxovpcvo.jpg

We rested all afternoon and went to the CL a little earlier than usual so that we could visit with Eddie and Carol. They were with other people that could not come in to the CL and they also ate a lot earlier than we did. It was really crowded at this earlier time, but cleared out around 7. Christopher was still the bartender, so that was good.

Cheers to another week!

DSC08759_zpso2dytiry.jpg

We had our usual Chops reservation tonight.....by ourselves this time. The service and the food were excellent! We cleaned our plates and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but we were stuffed!

We did make our way to the casino after dinner. And guess what?! It was a miracle and we both managed to win something! We immediately stopped, took our winnings and went back to the cabin.

I was tired and slept well.
