Anthem obstructed balcony choice

 Share

Recommended Posts

We are currently booked on the Anthem in an obstructed balcony cabin 6170. I booked this particular cabin for the price and the appearance that the balcony may be larger than most. I just noticed that there are two obstructed cabins (6620 and 6622) that have opened up closer to midship (which is our preference for location on the ship). Does anyone know if the obstruction is less in any of these cabins. If anyone has pictures or personal experience with these cabins that would be great.

Thanks

Both 6620 and 6622 overlook the very middle of the lifeboat there so only the downward view when standing at the rail is blocked. They both have a better view than 6170 which overlooks the aft end of the most forward port side lifeboat, lower bottom left in the screen shot below, thus has two davits just to the left of that balcony, . I'll try to get you a pictures of both areas this Sunday once we are onboard Anthem. ;)

Here a link to a diagram that shows the lifeboat davits location, red dots, on Quantum class ships.

Your cabin has a larger balcony. I would keep it.

Can't provide links but I cancelled a booking for next October, balcony D0 6160, I believe it and its equivalent on the other side of the ship are the best of the D0 cabins, almost no obstruction at all. Good luck.

Here are the shots I promised. We able to do North Star yesterday as they were offering rides without needing a reservation and it was going over to both the port and starboard side of the ship.

First shot is of front lifeboat so 6170 has view over end and two davits are to the left or directly in front of balcony for cabin 6172.

Zoom internet kept logging me out before I could add all comments above.

First shot is of front port side lifeboat, so 6170 has view over aft end of this boat and two davits are to the left or directly in front of balcony for cabin 6172.

attachment.php?attachmentid=372668&d=1451998230

Middle of left boat is where 6620 and 6622 are.

attachment.php?attachmentid=372669&d=1451998230

View sitting from 50% obstructed balcony. Not any of above.

attachment.php?attachmentid=372670&d=1451998230

Davits from second balcony over. For cabin 6170 balcony these are in front of next cabin's, 6172, balcony.

Just booked a OB guarantee on Anthem and already got my cabin assignment, 6178. Thank you so much for this diagram it was very helpful in figuring out what my obstruction was going to be like :D

We stayed in 6620 on Anthem in Dec. the top of a lifeboat comes part way up the balcony ( not as high as the glass) but it did not bother us. We liked the location of this room.

Don't know if bed location matters to you, but 6620 has the bed near the balcony.

selling on anthem of sea this year- where are the lifeboats located- I really enjoy relaxing out on a balcony and would hate to have an obstructed view- stateroom 7572

That cabin's balcony has two lifeboat davits in front just below floor level as it is directly above cabin 6572 in the deckplan above.

Below is a cropped shot of those two davits. The second shot is the one I cropped it from, taken from shore at about 30 degree side and slightly upwards angle

We're in 6620 this coming October. Doesn't look too bad! I can live with that!

Also, good to know that the bed is closest to the balcony! Now I'm even more pumped for my first cruise!

Anyone have any info on 6182? TIA

I believe your view will be over the aft end of the second from front lifeboat with its davit in front of the balcony for the next cabin, 6184. Bed is by bathroom.

I found a better picture taken from the Labadee water shuttle that I cropped the shot below from. Balcony for cabin 6182 is indicated by white down arrow and as you can see the lifeboat davits are in front of the balconies for cabins 6186 and 6188.

Here's a better shot of the section where the balcony for cabin 7572 is located which is below the white arrow.
