TrulyBlonde Posted January 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) We have a 2017 British Isles booked on Whisper (our 1st SS cruise) and yesterday decided to book the cruise prior, Monte Carlo to Southhampton for a B2B, 25 days total. The overnights in Bordeaux were the selling point and now I can cancel the Bordeaux river cruise on Crystal:). We love to dine Al Fresco and am a bit confused with La Terrazza for evening dining. Are reservations required, can we dine outside (weather permitting) and are you limited as to how often you dine there? Is a separate cost involved? Thank you. Reservations are required, but occasionally walk-ins can be accommodated. Dining outside is possible in good weather. There is no surcharge. I cannot recall whether there is a limit on the number of times one can use the restaurant, but I think there is none. Enjoy!

Rare spinnaker2 Posted January 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2016 There is no limit on the number of times one may dine in la terrazza. Just be certain to reserve far in advance of sailing using the my silversea portal. (Which should also be used for excursion reservations)
TrulyBlonde Posted January 5, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks Spinnaker2. Love being outside sailing from Monte Carlo when weather is nice. Not so sure about those British Isles in May;-)...we typically sail on O and this will be a nice change and SS has some wonderful itineraries and I can eat Italian food every night. Rare RachelG Posted January 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2016 If you dine on the early side, you can almost always get a table in La Terraza, even without a reservation. The exception would be on formal nights as all the people who don't want to dress up go the La Terraza.

We love dining outside at La Terrazza on the back of these Silversea ships. During our Amazon River cruise last year, we had hoped to do that, also. BUT, the time of the year and sunset times, however, can affect that situation. We could not do the back of the ship dining there a year ago on the Amazon River due to it being dark out there. Nice idea, but it did not work for us then. Hoping to do a sunset dining at La Terrazza on Jan. 2 in the scenic Cape Town harbor before the 11 pm sail-away. Sunset in Cape town on that day will be about 8 pm. Not sure how things will work out for us. It's fun dreaming and hoping. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Lots of great visuals from this amazing Brazil river and these various Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.) that we experienced. TrulyBlonde Posted January 5, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Thank you everyone for your responses. We do dine early so this will fit nicely into our schedule and will look forward to 2017 and our 1st SS cruise. We have a month on O this year for S. America in Oct. and this SS cruise is perfect for our annual Spring cruise schedule :)
