merknerk Posted January 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Hello Everyone, We will be on Zuiderdam for Super Bowl Sunday. Does anyone know where it might be showing?
vicd1969 Posted January 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2016 For sure the sports bar near the casino. However, seats are a bit limited there. Not sure if they'd open other rooms for the Super Bowl, however. The regulars may know.
KirkNC Posted January 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2016 I think they may show it in the theater.

sail7seas Posted January 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2016 We have been aboard a number of times for Super Bowl Sunday and HAL makes it very fun. Assuming they can pull down the satellite signal, it will likely be shown in Queen's Lounge as well as cabin TV's.
elycelynne Posted January 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2016 I sailed the Noordam two years ago during Super Bowl Sunday. They showed it in the Vista Lounge (main showroom) and had a little party with snacks. They were even selling a few "premium" seats (recliner-type chairs). SeaBands Posted January 27, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) which is the best part since I don't care about either team. We are usually in the dining room during the game. Edited January 27, 2016 by SeaBands
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2016 We have been on a few different ships on Super Bowl Sunday. Most showed it in the Queen's Lounge. One time they had hot dogs and pop corn and other snacks. This varies by ship. The game will also be shown on the cabin TV's. Sure hope you all have a good satellite. vicd1969 Posted January 27, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Hello Everyone, We will be on Zuiderdam for Super Bowl Sunday. Does anyone know where it might be showing? We have been on a few different ships on Super Bowl Sunday. Most showed it in the Queen's Lounge. One time they had hot dogs and pop corn and other snacks. This varies by ship. The game will also be shown on the cabin TV's. Sure hope you all have a good satellite. Glad to hear they also showed it in the Queen's lounge. On the Zuiderdam, I would highly recommend getting there early like 30 minutes before kickoff to get a good seat, even in the Queen's lounge. I was on the Zuiderdam last December on almost exactly the same itinerary and the signal was fine for CBS on both Sundays, though that was for the late afternoon games. Of course, weather may be different and affect the signal.
sail7seas Posted January 27, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2016 They usually decorate with colored balloons for each team's colors and make it very fun. 'Tailgate' snacks. :)
RuthC Posted January 27, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Whatever public rooms (<---plural; it will be shown in more than one room) the game is shown in, you can be certain that it will be published in the daily program. The locations have varied over the years, but the announcement is guaranteed.
sppunk Posted January 28, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 28, 2016 Prepare for the 1,500 repeated commercials for a cricket tournament! You won't get the real US feed, so no commercials except one or two cricket or soccer ones ad naseum.
SeaBands Posted January 28, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 28, 2016 thedy made a big event out of it with buffets of tailgate food in one of the big lounges and the 2 cruise directors were running a betting pool. It was great fun. On HAL ships which we take this time every year there is not much fuss.
