Honolulu on Ruby

You didn't say when you will be arriving in Honolulu on the Ruby & here's a link to a website with scheduled pier info. It shows the Ruby only in Honolulu on 3/29 and 4/25 this year & both are at the Pier 2 Cruise Terminal and not at the Aloha Tower (Pier 11).

This shows a map with the Honolulu pier numbers:

I've read several posts about passengers getting cabs to Pearl Harbor & if you join your cruise's roll call you may find someone to share the cab fare with you...last I read it was about $35 each way.

You might consider taking a cab to PH and then use their great public transportation system...The Bus...to return to the ship, Waikiki or like my wife to the Ala Moana Shopping Center before returning to the ship. (http://www.thebus.org)

Pier 2 Cruise Terminal is closer than the Aloha Tower (11) to walk into Honolulu and to visit places such as Iolani Palace (Google Maps shows its a 7/10 of a mile, 14 minute walk from the Pier 2 Cruise Terminal to Iolani).

There are a limited number of pre-booked tender reservations to the Arizona Memorial and here is their website with all the information about how to make reservations & other useful info:

The links and advice from Astro Flyer are terrific. However the HIDOT website isn't always accurate. On our last Hawaii cruise that website said we would be docking at Pier 2. However, we sailed right past it and docked at Pier 11, the Aloha Tower. So you never know for sure until you get there.

We took the bus to/from Pearl Harbor. There was a short walk to the bus stop (from Aloha Tower, don't know how far from pier 2). The bus cost $1.00pp with a Social Security card. The bus was about 45 minutes each way. We got reservations online for Pearl Harbor. The total cost for both of us was less than $10.

Thanks...we paid $2.50 each way and wasn't aware of the $1 fare for passengers with a Medicare card as proof of eligibility.
