My Diary: Vision B2B ~ Feb. 27th & Mar. 5th

Recommended Posts

Lunch was delicious. Fresh made tortillas, and a make your own taco bar with all kinds of stuff on it. Steak, chicken, fish, pulled pork, and all sorts of toppings. And for dessert......there was a dessert drink made with crushed Oreos, Bailey's and Kailua. OMG!!!

Just a super place to hang out for the day.

We spent the afternoon relaxing and reading. One thing about here is that the water is not a beautiful clear blue like most places. The water was kind of brown. They tell you this on their website....I think....so it was not a surprise. I swam in it anyway.....it was refreshing and they had the neatest little chair floats.

After lunch they came around and asked us what time we would like to go back to the ship and they would arrange a taxi for us. We decided to leave at 3 and our taxi was right there waiting on us for our bumpy ride back to town. 3:30 is the latest taxi you can get.

Once we got back to the port.......we walked through the pool area and back on to the ship.

We only had a short rest time when we got back to the ship and since we were drinking a little today.....that was hard for us old coots! It was aa little hard to get ready for the evening. It was formal night and we made it to the CL and then on to the WJ for dinner.

The WJ was just OK tonight, but I DID get a nice slab of prime rib there. We went straight to bed after that......did not pass Go.....did not lose $200 in the casino!! Ha!

Of course Norm had to photobomb our picture!!

Hey There! We are on Adventure B2B in September for John's birthday. Been a while. Are Guy and Lisa going with you? Tell them hello......I sure miss them! We will be in Venice in June.

Again....thanks for the nice comments' date=' everyone.[/size']

No Lisa and guy are not going with us on this one, they are on liberty of the seas this week and last week. I know they are taking a cruise out of Venice but don't know if it is June or July. I won't see them until after we get back from adventure. Maybe you are going at the same time, I will find out.

Thanks for the review! We'll be doing this same itinerary in April on Vision. Would you happen to remember the name of the bar in Coxen Hole where you said they have good drinks? :D[/quote

Ummmmmm......no.......but it's right there as you get off the ship......you can't miss it. I have a picture. I will post it later.

Thank you for such a detailed and excellent review. We will be on the Vision for the April 9 sailing. I'll hold off questions for now to give you a chance to answer them as you write. I look forward to following your review and getting even more excited for our sailing.

Thanx

Erika

Glad to have you along for the ride. Just so you know that Vision is an older ship and doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a lot of the newer ships have or the comforts that Celebrity has. Sorry that we are so boring......we've been cruising so long that we no longer go to the shows (Not many' date=' anyway). And we didn't even eat in the dining room this trip.....so that's much help to you. Ha!

[/size']

We know Vision is older, not such a mega ship and has not all those bells etc., I think this is the type of ship we like.

Since we bring our grandkids I think we will not have dinner in the diningroom (maybe once or twice), but mostly on the buffet. Just hope the choice there will be o.k.

I think you should be fine. We've recently spent 32 days on Vision and found a good selection in the dinner buffet.

My hubs and I will be on VOS April 2 on our 1st cruise together (my 2nd his 1st) and your review has increased my excitement level. Photos and detail in your review are amazing. We can't wait and based on reading this, we now have 2 reservations at Chops. Looking forward to following your reviews in the future.

Oh....the older, smaller ships are my favorite. I like the bells and whistles, but on the smaller ships.....everyone is like family. Everyone knows your name. I feel like we are treated just a little better. We are going on the Oasis next month....trying a big ship once again. We'll see how that goes.

Hey Franca!!

Thanks again for the nice comments, everyone!

I'm with you Jane. I like the larger ships but prefer the smaller ships. Feels more homey.

I have nothing but Radiance and Vision Class on the books (and Millennium class with Celebrity). :D

So glad that you are getting excited. I could eat in the specialty restaurants every night. Hope you enjoy it.

Us, too. We are only going on the Oasis because some friends wanted us to go with them. We cruised on the Allure years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I couldn't wait to get back "home" on the Radiance and Vision class ships!

I should be doing laundry and packing for our Anthem cruise, but I can't pass up one of your trip journals, Jane! And I'm taking notes in case we ever get a chance to visit these places.

I'll be back!!

Thursday ~ March 3, 2016 ~ Cozumel

We docked early this morning. We did not need to be in a rush today. So we had a nice leisurely breakfast in the MDR. They do a nice job in this special area.

We saw the Oasis come in and back in right next to us. So much for a balcony view today. (More first world problems!)

Today we were going out to Nachi Cocom.......one of our favorites. Must be....because we have been here many, many, many times. We've tried most of the other beach areas all over Coz, but for us.....this is the best.

The weather looked a little dreary, though. We got off the ship somewhere in the 9 o'clock range. We walked out to the taxi area. There is lots of construction going on here now....a massive expansion with new shops and a new security building.

DSC00514_zpssymfag6b.jpg

We easily got a taxi out to Nachi. We had it to ourselves. It's cheaper is you can find someone to share the taxi.

Upon arriving at Nachi......they like to take your picture. We've been there at least 30+ times and really didn't want a picture, but we got one made anyway. Turns out it was one of the best pictures we had made all week. They girl comes and finds you out on the beach to show them to you later. They are $12.

I usually book this through Island Marketing, but I think you can book through their website as well. The cost is $55 pp. We got a welcome glass of champagne with strawberries (that's something new). We got all set up under a palapa. We sat next to a nice couple from Kansas who were on the Oasis. We enjoyed chatting with them throughout the day. Joseph, our waiter, kept us supplied with food and drink all day. So nice to have someone wait on you.

You could see a storm just off the coast all day, but the rains held off for most our time here. We enjoyed Mexican beer and a nice lunch. The food is not anything to write home about, but it is pretty good. John hates Mexican food so he gets hot dogs here. I enjoy trying just about everything on the menu.

Our luck with the weather finally gave out and the bottom fell out around 2 o'clock. We got a torrential downpour at that time. It was then that we had them call a taxi for us and we went back to the ship.

What a great way to spend the day, thanks for the photos Jane. Looks like the weather was significantly better on week 2.
