My Diary: Vision B2B ~ Feb. 27th & Mar. 5th

Recommended Posts

We had dinner in Chops tonight. We used one of our BOGO's and paid for the other one which we will use on Friday night. I ordered my usual tonight......goat cheese salad and the petit filet.....BUT....I remembered to ask them to please not add any extra salt to my steak while they were cooking. What a difference!!!! My meal was wonderful! Best of the cruise. Of course we shared a cheesecake to top off the meal.

Warm goat cheese salad.

My saltless filet!!

Next we went to the theater and got seats for the show. I know!!!! Can you believe it!? It was a headliner show with an accapella group called Revoiced. They put on a good show and we enjoyed it.

Oh....I forgot to show you what we got in our cabin for formal night. Kind of pitiful.

DSC00451_zpsrkixuor1.jpg

This little guy reminded us of the time change this evening. We were wise to that this week!

DSC_0458_zpso3wp1rsy.jpg

There was lots of music going on in the Centrum' date=' but with the fire doors closed.....we didn't hear a thing. We had a great night's sleep.[/size']

Jane,

They are my favorites at Chops also! I look forward to them every cruise.

Enjoying your review and noting the beaches you are visiting.

Thanks for taking the time to share your vacation.

Debbie

Hi there. At Nachi Cocom, are there paddle boards, kayaks or anything like that to use or rent?

They do have water sports activities available for extra cost. Some of our party took a snorkel excursion with them that was around $40 per person extra.

OK......well back to the ship in Cozumel. We found that the Brilliance came in and docked beside us today. We'll be on her in June!! Looking forward to that!

DSC00533_zpstpprgov0.jpg

We stayed in Cozumel a couple extra hours today since we missed Costa Maya.

Made it to the CL a little late this evening. That's what you get when you drink on the beach!! We enjoyed visiting with Len and Linda.

The WJ was just OK this evening. We were really rocking and rolling this evening and I had to hold on to the table while eating!!

We stopped by the casino and went ahead and did our Spin to Wins. I won 2 key chains and John won a t-shirt. Unfortunately I had no luck elsewhere and made yet another donation. Off to bed!!

Friday ~ March 11, 2016 ~ At Sea

Nice breakfast this morning. Great conversation with the folks we met up with there every day! We were still in rather rough seas today.

DSC00551_zps02aroqpp.jpg

DSC00557_zpsfgvb8sb4.jpg

Not bad, but just enough to be annoying.

We had more coffee and some quiet reading time in the CL.

Back to the cabin for a while. We were trying to enjoy this cabin as much as possible. We will not have this nice of a cabin for the rest of the year!!

I went to the special lunch with an officer at 12:15. Twenty five people qualified to have this lunch this cruise and 12 showed up. I sat at a table with a young engineer from Sweden named Chris. He was twenty five and already had two bars. Very nice young man.

DSC00562_zpswgxqcreo.jpg

We had a nice table. Len and Linda were there. And another fun couple that we have cruised with before. I always meet interesting folks at these things and there is good conversation. Lots of wine flowing!

DSC00560_zpstakd9ftj.jpg

We once again had the sushi and crabcakes on the table, but unlike last week, the people at this table appreciated it!! I ordered the turkey scaloppini, which was good.....but guess what.....way too salty....as usual. I had a very nice time at this event.

John was not feeling well (too much motion on the ocean) so I went to the Park Café and got him a roast beef sandwich. We spent the time after lunch getting packed up as much as we could. We also watched Nancy Reagan's funeral on TV.

This was the view straight down from our picture window today.

DSC00553_zpshtsoxgac.jpg

We went down to the photo gallery before going to the CL this evening to get our photos. We actually were able to get a Getting on Board picture for this cruise because they were all set up when we got off and got back on.

Scan0050_zpshhvdca37.jpg

Then on to the CL. It was very quiet this evening as it was all week. We visited once again with Len and Linda.

DSC00566_zpsl9ij6u4l.jpg

Then Franca and Bill came in.

DSC00498_zpsy63dyb60.jpg

We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Ed and Mieko again for these two weeks. Mieko is a trip!!

We had to say good-bye to everybody for real this time. Christian and MJ were the best. We enjoyed their hospitality and they really took care of us.

John was still feeling puny and he did not know if he could make it to Chops or not......but he DID go. We let them know that he wasn't feeling well and would appreciate it if they would be able to speed things up a little for us. They were very accommodating. We ordered and got all our courses and were eating dessert before the table next to us got their appetizers, and they were already seated when we got there! I once again asked that the chefs not add any additional salt to my food and that made all the difference in the world. Much better tasting food! John didn't eat very much but I thoroughly enjoyed all of my dinner and cleaned my plates!!

DSC00578_zpsepthqjhk.jpg

We headed back to the cabin and unfortunately had to put our suitcases out in the corridor!

DSC00580_zpsdh2p4dpo.jpg

Back in the cabin we watched a little basketball on our wonderful TV before retiring. This TV was mounted on the wall directly in front of the bed. I liked that!

Hello Jane-

I have enjoyed reading your review. We sail this weekend on her and are looking forward to it. The roast beef sandwich at Park Café is the kummelweck roast beef sandwich?

Happy sailing!

We went to breakfast in the regular MDR this morning and it was really nice. We had a good breakfast.....they were very organized in there. Some ships are very disorganized in the MDR on that last day, but this was very pleasant. The dining room opened at 6:45 and we went around 7:00. We took our time.....did not feel rushed at all.

After breakfast, we went back to the cabin and got all of our things together, then headed down to Deck 5 to the dining room where the D+ folks were supposed to meet. We were supposed to get off at 8:45. It was around 8:15 at that time and we found out that our number had already been called!! So we just walked right off.....no line or anything.....found our luggage quickly and we had a very short line to stand in for customs and immigration. Very, very quick process! I was really impressed with that!

We just had to walk across the street to a parking garage to meet our shuttle back to the parking lot. The shuttle came for us in about 10 minutes and within 3 minutes.....we were in our car and ready to hit the road. We were going as far as Savannah today. So easy.

In Savannah.....we met up with some cruise buddies who lived nearby and had dinner with them. Always good to reconnect with some of the wonderful people that we meet on board. We have truly made lifelong friends with the folks we have met through Cruise Critic. Also on board as well.

So two more cruises are in the books. We had such a good time. After we got home, we got laundry done and everything ready to repack for the next adventure!! We'll be doing a B2B on Indy followed by 7 days on Oasis next month. Not a fan of the big ships but we're giving the Oasis a try. Looking forward to it.

As always......we would like to make a toast to all our cruise buddies and to all of you who have been reading along. Hope to see you again on board or meet you for the first time!!!

Cheers!!

Hi Gina!

Yes....that is correct. It is the kummelweck roast beef sandwich. John would eat that every day if he could, but the PC is not open on port days!

Thanks, Jane, for taking the time to write 2 more great reviews. Leaving on Wednesday so this really got me in the mood. Grandeur is reportedly having engine issues so I hope all will be ok. From one Max's Mom (my little Boston) to another, thanks again. Katherine

I had a terrible time, for some reason, uploading pictures to Photobucket. They weren't in any kind of order, so I had a time finding the pictures that I needed. Here are some random pictures that I think got left out.

Aerial show practice. We never got to see this because we were always doing something else during their show times. It's also very hard to see these shows because eit's too crowded. I think they are stopping a lot of these shows because eof that reason. They are neat though!

A nice dessert that you can order off the lunch menu in the MDR:

Talked with Lisa this morning, I said hello for you and told her you were going to be in Venice in June but did not know the dates. Lisa told me they will be on the June 24th sailing/rapsody. She said she would contact you when they get home. This week they are staying in Texas, visiting family.
