Atocha Shipwreck Gal Posted May 3, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 3, 2016 http://www.zydecocruiser.net/CarnivalVistaInaug/02SeaDay1/5-3-2016/DSC_7131_Zyde.jpg another great pic from zydecocruiser that lets u know how close we will b to the action if we r in aft cabins! I do not think noise will be a problem as the bar / music is under us & to the back. besides,,,,it will b wonderful to go to sleep to the sounds of the Cuban drums and sultry sounds of the music! So excited! And a great big shout out to zydecocruiser's website as he posts dozens of the best pics daily. He has been a wealth of info for yrs and has the best food porn pics there are! We plan what we r going to order after looking at his website. And he posts on cruise critic all the time...he is the best!
surfjock27 Posted May 3, 2016 #27 Share Posted May 3, 2016 Havana Bar and interior is available 24/7 to everyone, including kids under 12. Prior to 5pm, only Havana guests will have access to the AFT (pool, spas, outside bar, etc.). Prior to 5pm, only Havana guests will have access to the outside track on deck 5, allowing them to walk past your Havana patios. After 5pm, ALL cruise guests over 12 have access to the AFT area (pool, spas, outside bar, etc). These guests will also have access to the outside track on deck 5, allowing ANYONE (over 12 years old) to walk past. John says that there will be wristbands and it will be strongly enforced. You also have to have your room key to get into your patio from the outside, although the rails are short and any drunk passenger can climb over and pass out on your patio. LOL. Hope this helps. Curious where you found out about the walkway by the cabanas? I've been watching a few boards plus John and hadn't heard yet. A review from a current passenger? Should be interesting to see how many people actually parade past the cabanas as it's pretty narrow....sort of awkward for them and cabana guests! hbrote Posted May 3, 2016 #30 Share Posted May 3, 2016 I myself am a bit disappointed by what it has turned out to be verses what was sold in the beginning. It was advertised as only access is available to Havana guests until 5PM. Then the Havana Bar is open to everyone no matter the time. Looking at some of the photos, that I appreciate being posted, were taken during the day and I don't believe they were Havana guests. Armband or not I do jot believe this will be adhered to by the crew. as far as the lanai portion of the cabins, anyone who wants to cross the fence can. I can imagine this happening on the Caribbean Cruises many times as the gates seem to be open all the time. If I were to do it again I would be in an Ocean Suite instead of the Havana Cabana Suite. Just my opinion

But I will say, I am not wearing a wristband. I will have it with me but not wearing it... I also thought the Havana Bar (all parts) were off limits to general public until 5:00 pm. One of the previous posts said that the interior was available to all all the time. Edited May 3, 2016 by LisaH

I was clear on this other than the kids' part. So they can be under 12 and enjoy the Havana interior area, but after 5 only people over 12 can enjoy any part of Havana? To me that doesn't make any sense.

steph7021 Posted May 5, 2016 Author #35 Share Posted May 5, 2016 So the pool/hot tub area on the Havana deck are open pretty late. For that reason alone I wish they'd reconsider having any children allowed after 5. Of course, teenagers are the loud ones anyway (and I'm bringing 4 in my group) so perhaps we will just have to hope that other areas of the ship are far more attractive to kids! We will have no idea until Caribbean sailings how kids will flow through the ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Computer Nerd Posted May 6, 2016 #37 Share Posted May 6, 2016 The fact that other lanai guests could see me on my private area was enough for me to not book one (let alone pay the prices). I have a feeling Vista is going to be the only ship with these cabins as they'll be modified for her sister. I am sure John said something about wristbands/keycards only allowing guests to pass through certain areas in Havana? Although that does beg the question can people bring guests with them? The only way around this is havingstaffing on the doors. I am a bit jealous of those that booked the Havana balconies above deck 5 though! :) good lord, i hope no guests are allows in the havana area until after 5pm. what's the point of paying more for privacy if someone can bring everyone and their brother in as a guest  your guest can visit after 5pm. This is true. I tried with my currently 11 son, wondering because he would have turned 12 on day 3 of the cruise. No go. We ended up hanging travel plans for 3 months later and it let me book no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Sigyn Posted May 6, 2016 #40 Share Posted May 6, 2016 For whatever it's worth, we debated getting a Havana room, but we only have one at-sea day on our 8-day cruise, so it didn't seem worth it to pay that premium for only one day until 5 p.m. for a private area. We won't be reboarding until at least 5 p.m. every other day at port, so by then the Havana areas will be open to the public. I would have booked a Havana room if the private areas stayed private 24/7.
PatrickZJD Posted May 6, 2016 #41 Share Posted May 6, 2016 I'm just wondering now, is there any adults-only pool on the Vista? I've not really seen any information on the Tides Pool anywhere, for example. Of course I know that there is the Serenity area, but that generally does not have pools save for where it's been retrofitted like the Spirit-class. Since the Havana cabins are for ages 12 and up, I presume that especially in August, the Havana pool and hot tubs will have (more than?) its fair share of junior cruisers. This will likely not shatter my Havana experience, or even my upcoming B2B in general, but it would be interesting to know...and to prepare for! js Posted May 6, 2016 #42 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Hi. Has anyone found out from first hand sailers if the "walkway" in front of the Havana Cabanas is always secure? After 5 pm, are the doors opened and wristbands no longer needed or are the walkways always closed off? It looks like the door from the fist Havana Cabana by the pool is not solid (more see through) and the one from the deck is solid. Thank you. Right. I said exclusive adult. There is no haven on the Vista. And like you I can't get any clarity on only 12 & up after 5. Doesn't seem to make much sense if they allow anyone in the inside during the day till 5. It's been a little confusing. I have one that's 8 and I highly doubt she will be with us when and if we go back there. But just in case, I would like to know. If I'm back there enjoying a drink or taking pics, I don't wanna be chased out with pitchforks if she was with us! Lol I love the Havana Area and would book a cabin back there if we ever sailed the Vista without the kids. But I still think this whole area should have instead been serenity cabins with an expanded serenity area. Havana could have been a unique area too but not the semi adult stuff. I know pre teens can be rowdy. I once was one. Lol. So the age thing I don't really gett. Oh well, maybe with Vista's sista they will do some things differently. Still can't wait for my turn. Are you booked on her? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
