Interesting exchange between the Norwegian Pearl's pilot and the captain of an incoming/northbound tug and barge combination - The Pearl will have to wait until the tug & barge has vacated the channel before she (Pearl) can depart

One of the ships just asked for visitor passes to be collected shoreside. What kinds of visitors are allowed onboard?

It could be travel agents or friends and family or passengers or staff that made arrangements (it can happen) or other groups invited onboard. When the Eurodam first visited New York there was a Mariner's lunch onboard and we were able to go onboard for a couple of hours. In Miami we were part of a group that boarded the MSC Divina for lunch and a tour when it started sailing there, it was arranged by our TA.

John will know about this. :)
