cruiserking Posted July 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2016 If you booked through a TA can you contact TA and let her know you saw the lower price? Will it usually be honored? As long as you haven't paid for cruise in full, you should absolutely contact your travel agent and they will be able to get you the lower price. Shmoo here Posted July 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2016 If you booked through a TA can you contact TA and let her know you saw the lower price? Will it usually be honored? Certainly you must contact your TA and have them deal with it. Cruise lines won't talk to you about reservations if you used a TA. As to whether the lower price will be honored - it depends on the cruise line, what the lower fare is, and whether you are past your paid in full date, generally Some promotional fares are only good for "new bookings only". Others are just lowered regular fares.
navybankerteacher Posted July 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2016 If the difference is significant and there is reasonable time before final payment date, press you agent to earn his/her commission by getting you an adjustment. If after final payment date (and particularly if the difference is minor) suck it up - you are not always entitled to the best deal.
DirtyDawg Posted July 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2016 suck it up - you are not always entitled to the best deal. Isn't that what King George III said to General Washington and the boys back in 1776?:D HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:)
Rare geoherb Posted July 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2016 It depends on where you saw the lower price. If it's on the cruise line's website and before the final payment date, there should not be any problem. If there is, it's time to get a new TA. SadieN Posted July 5, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Also need to account for any TA change fees. A $50 drop incurring a $100 TA fee doesn't make much sense. Lower fares effect the TA's commission, hence the reason for the change fees. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
terri-eddie Posted July 6, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 6, 2016 We always book Early Saver, and if I see a price drop, even after final payment date, I apply for it....you can get OBC for the difference, if your cruise is already paid in full. It never hurts to ask!
