Question for Platinum Cruisers:

Then maybe they should be happy with all of their perks and not abuse it because those of us who never abused the system got our perks downgraded thanks to entitled people like the OP and all those who are telling them it is A-OK to do whatever they want.

Yep, kinda hard to take complaints of cutbacks seriously when folks think it's okay to double up on perks provided.

Last time on the Breeze in November, they glanced at our invitations. I can't remember if they collected them or not, but they expected you to be invited. And I don't think that your spouse would be invited if they are not platinum or diamond. Make the decision that is best for you and your family. My husband had way too much to drink and could not help me pack. But we had fun.

I think you need to re-read the OP's original question. Not sure where you got 'entitled' from but definitely not from someone asking a question.

Perhaps there is just a hint of envy?

If I'm platinum but my wife isn't can she go with me to the past guest platinum/diamond party? She did before but I wasn't sure if it was ok or not.

The answer seems to be somewhere in between. What Carnival has to say is this:

Can a guest bring another guest to membership functions on board?

Generally, benefits requiring an invitation are designated per member. Certain events invite eligible guests to bring one additional person as space permits. Details are provided on invitations for each of the functions.

I would wait until you receive your invitation and then inquire at Guest Services to see if they would give your wife an invitation.

Exactly. But we all know that platinums think they are above and better than everyone else.

Nah, it is those of us who are Diamond who think we are better than anyone else! NOT!!!

But there is a whole lot of status envy as evidenced by the snarky remarks we have heard in the GS line, during priority tendering when being escorted by someone from GS and when people ignoree the private party sign and crashed the Diamond event and were asked by a senior officer to leave.

We have even gotten nasty comments for being in a suite from those in the inside cabin across the hall. People just can't stand someone having more than they do. Well, if you want "status" buy FTTF or cruise alot. If you want a suite then pay for it as we do.

I could be wrong but I think the answer is no she can't

If memory serves, everyone needed a invitation. But I could be wrong

While the invitation does only list the name of the Platinum passenger I have brought with me the family member staying in my room and not only did they let him or her in the cruise director even stopped to chat with us and asked them how they were enjoying their Cruise. It's another one of those rules that Carnival does not enforce however I'm glad they don't enforce this one because I would not go to the party and leave my sister or boyfriend sitting in our room by themselves.

Invitations are by name. There is no guest option. Every Platinum and Diamond that abuses this perk will only have themselves to blame when it disappears.

No way I would go to a party without a date and leave my family member sitting in our room alone. So as far as I'm concerned if they were going to exclude my guest they might as well eliminate the party.
