The package does not include room service, buckets of beer, super and ultra premium brands, wine or liquor by the bottle, mini-bar purchases, freshly squeezed juice, canned soda or energy drinks, specialty coffee or bottled water.

Norwegian's Ultimate Beverage Package includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 USD and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and the Great Stirrup Cay. A 20% discount will be applied to all bottles of wine purchased on board.

The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD.

Anything under $15 is included, apart from:

  • Speciality Coffees (Lavazza)
  • Beer buckets
  • Bottles of wine
  • Anything from the mini bar
  • Bottled water
  • FRESH fruit juice
  • energy drinks
  • vending machines
  • anything over $15 (you pay the difference + 18%)

Yes, it looks like they recently changed the terms and conditions so it no longer says that canned soda is not included. That's good news!

but the T&Cs clearly state what is included "unlimited fountain soda" so that excludes canned soda by omission.

As far as I know, the terms and conditions have never explicitly said that canned soda is not included. But it has never been included. (destiny217's quotation above is not directly from NCL, it's from a Cruise Critic article.)

The UBP terms contain an exhaustive list of things that are included. This list has always included "unlimited fountain soda". Anything that is not listed here is not part of the package.

The terms also contain a list of things that are excluded, but this list cannot be assumed to be exhaustive. In other words, if you think of something that isn't mentioned in either list (they don't say that it's included, and they don't say that it's not included), it is not included in the package. Canned soda falls into this category.

So if my husband wants a scotch off the Super Premium list, would he just pay the difference between $15 and whatever the actually cost is? Example: if the scotch is $20 a shot, would he just pay $5.00 plus 18% service charge or are the Super Premium brands off limits all together or full price?

Thanks!

The T&Cs state "designated Super Premium brands (subject to change)" are excluded from the UBP so it would depend if that scotch was a "designated Super Premium brand" at the time of purchase...

if it is a "designated Super Premium brand" at the time of purchase then you pay the full price plus 18%

if it isn't a "designated Super Premium brand" at the time of purchase then you pay the $5 plus 18%

As long as he can get his Pepsi...he will be happy...however it comes. Sometimes with Jack (Jack and coke) or straight up on the rocks (straight Pepsi over ice)...he is not particular..Prefers Pepsi, but won't sneer at coke.

He will have a Mai tai upon boarding...we are not opposed to drinking...but we can take it or leave it. We do it when we can be responsible about it...We talked about purchasing the UBP, at the time of booking it was 55pp/pd...and decided that we wouldn't drink 110 dollars worth of alcohol a day between the 2 of us...so not worth it..especially for our 11-day cruise.

But we got it as a booking promo...the value of that was the best deal. Yes we still had to pay the gratuity on that cost of it...but that average comes out to about 12 pp/pd...that is reasonable. And we would spend that amount...plus we would have bought him the fountain card package anyway..so we ware win/win all around

You might want to bring an insulated mug. When we were on Epic their plastic soda cups are about 8 ounces and filled with ice so you get about 4 oz. of soda. I know it's unlimited but it's a pain to keep going back, wait in line for another 4 oz or soda. Some bartenders will fill your mug. Saves them time too. If not ask for your soda with no ice, pour it into your mug and then ask for another right away.
