D+ Question

Please don't flame me as I'm sure this has been asked before. :) My first D+ sailing is "coming soon" and my gift preference is a bottle of wine delivered to the dining room. My question is - will that be delivered on the first night? Is it a full bottle of wine or a "mini" bottle? Will I be charged a corkage fee? Thanks for your input and happy cruising!

I set it up for the dining room delivery. Just tell the waitstaff and it will be retrieved from wherever they hold it. Seems that I have had trips where I kind of forgotten about it and the waitstaff has asked if I would like it.

No corkage fee. If that were the case I would have had it sent to my stateroom.

We get ours delivered to the MDR and it's always the first night. But, we have requested they not open it then and they will hold it until you want it.

Also, RCI does not charge a corkage fee anymore.

Thanks to all that responded!:)

Just "sad" that your first sentence is asking "not to be flamed"... Absolutely no reason for you to be.

Ask anything anytime :)

Cheers and enjoy your wine :p

On my Allure cruise in Jan, we only had dinner in the MDR two nights. One was the 2nd formal night and then the last night. On the last night I was given my Diamond Plus bottle of wine. I was traveling with my sister and she doesn't drink wine, so I told the waiter, I didn't want it because I couldn't drink a whole bottle of wine in one night.

He then told someone, and I'm sorry, I don't know what her title is, and she came to the table and asked if I wanted to then take it home with me. I said fine and she had it delivered to my cabin. She also apologized for not giving it to me the formal night as they were quite busy with people ordering wine.

I am thinking that on my next cruise, we will be going to the MDR the two formal nights, so I think I will ask about it the first night in there if it isn't offered. That is, if I remember!

On our last cruise, we had some very sloppy staff. And we had to remind our loyalty ambassador several times about the diamond+ wine. I think we finally got it around day 4. At that time, we got two bottles, because by that time we had our concierge and the loyalty ambassador working on it. We mentioned it, but they didn't seem to worried. So, we left the extra bottle in the mini-fridge.
