What changes would you make to existing Carnival venues/entertainment?

Yeah, just move comedy to the main theater. I'm not really interested in seeing another vegas type show. More live bands, fewer "entertainers" would be my pick. My favorite thing about the shows is that there are less people in the pools/hot tubs. :)

Yeah I agree with that. I liked the Sunshine overall but I wasn't a fan of the theater

Carnival should get Led Zeppelin to reform and put them on every cruise I am booked on. They should also persuade Neil Peart of Rush to get behind the drum kit again and get Rush onstage for a few shows.

Failing that, could they raise Bon Scott from the grave and get the original AC/DC line up together?

No? Oh well...

Just got back from a Conquest cruise. The shows were alright (I am being polite) and certainly not great as they use to be. First of all, I am an old timer like most of the cruisers who cruise from January till schools out. All the shows (I mean all the shows) were musicals with acid rock or weird rock and roll that you could not identify with. The dancers (who were also the singers) were fantastic. They saved the evening. Too bad they had to dance to junk. The costumes were horrible. All the costumes were jet black shrouds with jean like pants. Must have cost at least a minimum of $10.00 each. While this is going on, they are flashing blinding lights not above your head but directly into your eyes. So you are blinded until you turn your head. The sound gets so loud that I have learned to bring ear plugs. That helps a lot. Why does it have to be so LOUD????? Oh I know. Old timers can't hear as well.

I have been on 20 Carnival cruisers and attended the many shows. I use to brag to every one how great the shows were. Now I don't any more. I still attend but the Casino looks better each cruise. Maybe there is a connection.

I know Carnival has invested considerable funds for the new lighting, computer programming, sound apparatus and stage managers but it is time to admit: "WE GOOFED!" and go back to the good old days.

To each his own. The shows like Epic Rock and The Brits are my favorite show changes on Carnival. Granted, I'd prefer them done to live music and not backing tracks but much better than being forced to listen to show tunes from the 50's and 60's :)

I pretty much agree with Richfret. Bring back the LIVE MUSICIANS. and TURN DOWN THE VOLUME! Many of the shows include lots of music that us old timers, (Yes, many of the current cruisers on Carnival are OLD TIMERS) haven't heard before, and can't identify with. The flashing lights in the shows are REAL distractions, and the costumes on the singers/dancers leave lots to be desired. In other words,,,,bring back the old shows with two or three production singers, ten or twelve dancers, and a ten piece LIVE band.

We have walked out on several shows due to the flashing lights. DW finds them to be migraine triggers.
