Early Saver Rate and on-board credit

Last October I booked an early saver rate while I was on the ship. Booking on board gave me a $50 on-board credit. I noticed my rate went down but in order to get the lower rate, I was told I will lose my on-board credit. I know this is the case if I book a rate that comes with on-board credit. However, I thought that the on-board credit I received from booking on the ship I was able to retain. (And even transfer to a new booking if I changed my booking) Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks :).

you should keep that $50 obc as it's not connected with your fare if it was an incentive to book onboard.

Bill is correct. I have done this many times. While my OBC usually falls off my PVP always puts it back on.

You should keep the OBC you got for booking on board. I have found in the past I had to remind them the OBC was in fact for booking on board.

agree with the above, they seem to confuse the booking on board obc with obc from a specific fare.

Although I don't think they let you transfer to a different booking anymore. I was told the last time I booked on board then tried to change to a different week that that was no longer allowed.

Thanks everyone! A phone call to Carnival has everything fixed and I had my OBC returned to me :).

You can change your booking, but you can't transfer it to a different booking. In other words, as long as your booking number remains the same, you will retain your OBC.
